I am shocked by the number of good reviews this restaurant received, as everything we ordered was an utter disappointment. We started with the appetizer Shrimp and Grits because there was a sign touting it as #1 Shrimp and Grits by Southern Living. The gravy tasted like breakfast gravy, and it was simply poured over steamed shrimp on a grit cake. The grit cake was the only redeemable part of the dish. My husband ordered the special for his entree which was a Blackened Chicken Cajun Pasta. He said it was it was simply bland/plain. I ordered the pan seared Grouper with pesto off the regular menu. The piece of fish was very thin, had an odd taste (previously frozen perhaps?), and the huge glob of pesto lumped on top tasted as if it were from a jar at the grocery store. My sides were green beans and fried okra. The beans were fine, but the okra furthered my disappointment in this meal. I thought surely since okra was in the name of this establishment they could get that much right! Instead it appeared and tasted as if it were poured from a frozen bag off the back of a Sysco truck into the fryer. Cracker Barrel has better okra. I will say my kids enjoyed their cheeseburgers ordered from the kids menu. Oh and the wine was cheap. I'm just so bummed that this was where we chose to have our last dinner out at the end of our vacation.

So, it's my birthday and I am on vacation. I asked a local for the. best place to have. a chicken fried steak. This is where they sent me. They were right!

I was sooooo hungover when I came here on Friday. I went out the night before and drank tequila shots until 2am, and then made the always solid decision to eat at Gilroys, but thankfully I didn't order the chicken and ranch pizza. Last time I did that, I was in the bathroom for literally 3 days. Never again. When I first arrived at Okra, I noticed the parking lot looked more like a concert than a restaurant. Christ almighty, it was all over Coleman Blvd. Why are so many people eating here? Was it on Diners, Drive ins and Dives? The world may never know (if you don't use Google). The restaurant itself looks like a diner with a trough at the back where people can sit and indulge on fried meat and veggies cooked in pork fat like hogs at a feeding. The special was a smoked meat platter, which turned me on to no end like when I watch Miley twerk it, because I was still reeling from the tequila. The meat was great, especially the smoked sausage because it was so greasy that it literally created a slimy trail that pushed all of the alcohol from my stomach into my lower intestine. It came with cole slaw full of bacon and an ear of corn that was deep friend. Ok. That was a little much. I was already not feeling too hot, and the thought of eating that make me want to run to the bathroom and vomit all over the walls. Sadly, they wouldn't let me make any substitutions. I'm the customer, dammit, how would that hurt anything? And I'm always right. As I predicted, both the sides were OK, but I didn't call my granddad to tell him how good they were, which I would obviously do if they had been fantastic. The corn was soggy and the fried batter was basically a statement that they don't mind if you die of a heart attack. Okra gets 3 stars because of their delicious, greasy smoked meat. Their lack of flexibility when it comes to sides is really off-putting, breaking the #1 rule in hospitality and all. Even I know better and I suck at being hospitable.

Good southern cooking and the best piminto cheese i've ever had. Loved sitting on the patio with a cool breeze blowing through and enjoying a Lazy Magnolia. Great first stop while visiting the low country!

Really run of the mill, local diner type place. We all had the pulled pork bbq sandwich with fried okra and coleslaw. It was good, we had both the sweet bbq and the mustard bbq sauces, but nothing to write home about. I also had a bacon bloody mary which was pretty darn great actually, with dill vodka and pickled okra! Our waitress was nice and attentive. I think I would like this place more for breakfast, and definitely when I'm looking for tastier, greasier food. Going to try their pimento grilled cheese next time!

We came as they were given #1 in southern living for their shrimp and grits and visiting SC I felt I had to try them. We sat outside which is a nice atmosphere. The service was interesting. We had 3 different people wait on us. I believe our server had too much on her plate as we did not order or food or drinks with her. So not sure who got our tip ;) We started with the house salad. The server did tell me this was quite large and recommended the side salad but for $2 more I thought I could share it. And yes we did it was a great size. It is iceburg lettuce so that is a little disappointing. It has carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese and croutons. I got the honey mustard dressing and I was not a fan of theirs. We then had the crab cake appetizer. They give you a HUGE side of remoulade which is always great with crab cakes and came with a pickled jalapeno slaw. It comes with two smaller crab cakes. Then on to the shrimp and grits. Very gravy heavy. I like that the grits are more of a grit patty then actual grits. The meal was not quite hot enough, more luke warm so that was a bit disappointing.

My husband and I noticed Page's Okra Grill while on a weekend vacation to the Charleston area; online reviews seemed largely favorable, so we decided to give it a try. Mistake. When we arrived, it seemed quite busy (though loud) which we took as a favorable sign. Because we were only a party of two, we were still seated quickly; larger parties were waiting 10 to 20 minutes for a table. Our server did not appear particularly knowledgeable about the menu ingredients, but when I asked allergy-related questions she did send someone else to help me. Our initial beverages appeared promptly, and our appetizer arrived shortly after we placed our entree orders. We waited over 40 minutes for our entrees. We saw meals delivered to tables with larger parties that were seated after us. We listened to the servers joking around, singing and clowning. We listed to the owner have a discussion with three servers over which server would be sent home early. And finally, after those 40 minutes, our server walked past our table, and as she passed she slapped it and said, "your food will be out soon - there was a lot of stuff in the fryer." We waited a few more minutes, then put cash on the table to cover what we had received. We left. Page's Okra Grill wasted one of our few vacation evenings.

Delish food. Had some fried okra, fried shrimp, rice with gravy. Solid comfort food and fresh. Homemade desserts with great friendly service. Def will be back when I'm in town. Recommend this for a casual evening of dining and for biz travelers.

My fiance and I recently relocated to Charleston (we're originally from NC), and fortunately have friends here that have taken it upon themselves to show us around and take us places. We have eaten at various restaurants with them, this being the latest. Unfortunately, this has to be my least favorite of all the restaurants we have been to. I ordered the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, and sweet potato casserole in hopes of real "Southern" cooking. I was left dissatisfied. The chicken was very dry, the macaroni and cheese was too (very salty). The sweet potato casserole was very stringy and unique... The best part of the meal was the biscuit. My friend and I split the triple chocolate cake and were left very dissatisfied...the cake, too, was dry. The only good part was the icing (the only thing keeping it somewhat moist). Our waitress had no personality and wasn't helpful. We came at 6 p.m., so there was no excuse for the food to be that dry (it wasn't like it had been sitting out all afternoon or anything...or had it?). All in all, I wouldn't be back.

Both my husband and I had the shrimp and grits. Being from out of state it was a first for us. It was delicious. There was a nice crust around the grits while the inside was rich and creamy. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. It was covered in a silky, vream and flavorful sauce. The fried okra was crisp and tasty. We took desserts to go. While the carrot cake was moist it was very dense. On the other hand, the chocolate cake was every bit as good as the dinner. I would definitely recommend visitors to the Charleston SC area to take the trip over the big bridge gor dinner.

Was very happy with our meal. We brought 6 adults from out of town and ordered everything from salmon to fried chicken. All great, including the sides. Fried food was cooked properly. Good consistency in quality between the dishes. Doesn't get much better at this price point.

Amazing food and service!! My mum & I are gluten intolerant and they were so accommodating...we ended up having grilled fish salad which was delicious. The owner was so friendly and helpful! If it wasn't our last day in Charleston we would've been back for sure.

If I lived here I would be big as a house from eating here! The food is great and very reasonably priced. I had the hot mess biscuit for breakfast with fried chicken, gravy, cheese, & jalapenos. Tasty and only $4.99. My friend had a pecan waffle for $3.99 and no stinting on the pecans. It was so good we went back for dinner. Pulled pork made out front on their smoker. Just go!

We heard so much about the Shrimp and Grits and HAD to try it. I doubt if it can be made any better than Ashleigh's offering. Well spiced shrimp, smooth grits cake and great gravy. Served with a real southern biscuit by friendly staff we couldn't ask for more. Tomorrow these Yankees will try "TJ's Hot Mess" for breakfast.

My review is really between a 3 and a 4. I ate the at original location and now that they have moved to the old Alex's Diner I think it has lost some flair. It has a down home family feel but now it is more like a diner than a good southern traditional restaurant. The new menu is laminated with pictures and not much of the internal design has changed. The food is still good. Not over the top amazing but good.

Wow - glad we went back when there wasn't an hour wait. Loved it. Service was excellent and the food was great and plentiful - large portions. Very nicely priced as well. My wife had the shrimp and grits and I had a western omelet. Both were superb. Coffee was excellent and the server kept the cup filled. Menu has lots of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and all nicely priced. We'll be back!

Sunday mimosa and a TJ hot mess! I left a happy hot mess! Wait could be a bit long but it's worth it. Portions are great, prices are cheap as hell, and food is delicious.

Great prices!! Amazing food!!! Huge thanks to Page's Okra Grill for keeping their prices affordable!! When friends come in town, I take them here. We love to order the sample shrimp & grits, fried green tomatoes, and fried okra for appetizers. Fried okra is the best I have had outside of making it myself at home! The fried oysters, flounder, and shrimp are fresh and fried to perfection, and not greasy at all!!! Buy a slice of peanut butter pie before it sells out! Sit outside when the weather is nice, or dine inside. It's worth the wait!!

This place is one that everyone visiting or living in the Charleston area has to try. Pages offers a large variety of great food with fantastic service. The shrimp and grits are the best I've ever had! The orders are delivered to your table fairly fast and are nice and hot. The serving staff ensure that all your needs are met. Being as large as it is and with the turnover in customers, it's just nice to visit because it is so clean.

Any place with cakes in a case for me to drool over as I wait for a seat seems promising, and Page's definitely delivered. We were seated promptly even though they were busy on a Saturday late morning. The inside is very spacious, but it doesn't seem that service or quality is affected at all. Visiting from California, I was excited to try grits for the first time. And what better way to try them fried and paired with shrimp! As the other reviewers say, the shrimp and grits is one of their most popular dishes and deservedly so. My one small gripe is the coffee, it wasn't all that great, but I certainly could have got a bad pot. Not a deal breaker.

I meet friends here every Tuesday morning for breakfast and I don't need lunch later in the day. The staff is friendly and helpful, my coffe cup never gets empty, no matter how hard I try. They specials are always interesting and delicious, some are sweet like the vanilla bean pancakes and some are savory like the grape tomatoe, goat cheese omelet. With a place this good , don't be surprised if you have to wait for your table on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Amazing. Waitress was super friendly and recommended the shrimp and grits with the buscuit. So i ordered that, and they were soo good! Usually I can take or leave shrimp and grits but the grit cake was really good. The different texture reminded me of eating a buscuit and gravy. My husband got a burger and okra which he really enjoyed. Over all it was a great experience and we will definitely go back next time we are in town.

I was surprised by the atmosphere of Page's. on the outside it looks trendy and hip....but when you walk in it looks likes nursing home cafeteria . The food was delish though. Best fried okra and Mac and cheese I have had in a long time. I would sit outside in the rocking chairs to get the best experience and to escape the feeling of convalescence.

My father-in-law and I hit Page's on Saturday morning, after having driven for 13 straight hours in a moving truck from New Jersey. We were absolutely starving, and even though the place was packed, with a lot of people waiting outside, we only waited about 10-15 minutes before a table was ready for us. We both ordered steak & eggs with grits, and this was some damn fine food. The steak was very thin, but they were still able to prepare it rare for me, the eggs were perfectly cooked, over easy, and the grits with cheese were delicious. The food all came out quickly, and service was on-point. We really needed this fill-up before we got to unpacking the truck. I definitely want to come back here and sit outside for dinner, one night. I'm hoping that experience is as awesome as my breakfast experience!

I love going to a restaurant and thoroughly enjoying our meal. Eating great food while on vacation is one of the things we look forward to most. This place met our expectations and beyond. We ordered the crab cakes, grilled salmon, and barbecue sandwich. Everything was absolutely awesome! The portions are great and the best part is the freshness. There wasn't even that "fishy" taste in the salmon! There is a hustle and bustle feel and it's not so quiet but with a vocal 11mo old, that's exactly what we were looking for. The wait staff was a perfect picture of southern hospitality. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because the cake we ordered was just, eh. We could've done without it. Happy eating!

Went to Page's for the first time with my Mom for a light lunch and discovered some REALLY GOOD FOOD. Had heard great things about Page's so was glad to finally try it. Had the CRAB CAKE APPETIZER and it was delicious. Well done. Even the side salad I ordered was fresh and looked alive. Mom had the CRAB CAKE SANDWICH and really liked it as well. We took a slice of CARROT CAKE home and it was to die for. Very moist and not too sweet. The best I've had in a long while. Page's has a down home kind of feel to it and it feels very "local" which made it fun, casual and delightful. Will definitely return!

I visited the South keeping in mind that I would likely have to break some of my eating rules to really get the culture. I decided ahead of time that I'd be OK with shrimp, but still keep away from pork (at least when I knew it was there...I probably ate a lot more than I realized :P ). Maybe a bit arbitrary, but I make the rules around here! A note: maybe not the greatest place if you're vegetarian... Nice enough generally -- a 3-side plate was enough food for me, and everything I got was good (I got the fried okra, the field peas (which are more like black eyed peas than the green ones...very savory), and I think the potato salad. Sadly, that's what I ate because it seemed like everything else was cooked in lard :( I'd dock a star for that if I didn't think it was such an ingrained part of the culture. But I still would have loved to try the acclaimed shrimp and grits :/ That being said, our servers were all very friendly and helped us maintain our picky diets and find some nice local pubs for later that night -- that's how we found Red's Ice Hosue, which was wonderful.

DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!! Wish I had the opportunity to go there more than once while on vacation. I had the TJ's Mess (i think that's what it was called - TJ's something). It was fried chicken on top of a homemade biscuit smothered in pepper gravy and monterey jack cheese - WOAH! Even better - it was only like $5. Full of flavor and just perfect! Hubby had chicken fried steak - also very delicious! Looked like lots of locals were there. I'd compare this place to a NJ diner - big dessert cases. Super yummy!

I really love Page's because their menu offers a huge variety from breakfast to burgers and fried chicken. Portions are large and the food is very tasty. It is very affordable and I have found the servers to be really fast and friendly. I wouldn't come on a date-night; Page's has a family vibe. Great place to take your parents when they visit.

Tonight, my husband and I took my sister and her family (34 yo, 34 yo, 4 yo, 3 yo) here for dinner. We started off we 3 local beers, 1 glass of pinot grigio, mango juice, blueberry-pomegranate juice, and the pimento cheese dip ap. The dip was perfect for me but my 4 yo nephew said it was too spicy. For entree, my husband ordered the Shrimp and Grits. He said it was the 2nd best he's had in Charleston. This is coming from a man that orders S&G whenever we try a new local place. We moved here 11 months ago. I ordered the fried chicken. It was moist and breading was seasoned really well. My sister and her husband ordered rib eyes; they liked it. The kids ordered chicken fingers and a grilled cheese sandwich. One critique from my sister is about the sweet potato casserole; she said it had a slight orangey flavor. "It wasn't bad, just different." To summarize, this place is family friendly and has a great local atmosphere. There even was a pretty good blue grass band playing on the patio. They didn't charge us for the pimento cheese ap since my brother-in-law just got back from Afghanistan earlier today. I thought that was cool.

Wednesday February 11, 2015. Ordered platter of one small piece of flounder, one crab cake, and supposedly six shrimp, coleslaw and okra. Flounder was tasteless except for breading. Shrimp were the same and one was not even a shrimp, it was part of an onion ring. Crab cake was mushed up breading with stringy crab meat. No crab flavor at all. Coleslaw had onion in it which I can not eat and okra was frozen breaded variety. Husband had crab platter which was same as mine. Brunswick stew was barbecue with butter beans and corn mixed in it. Tasted like the canned Castleberrys Barbecue.. I had water which was very good and husband had diet coke. No refills were attainable. They were very busy as it was lunch time. We sat in a booth in a room off to the right side of the bar. My husband and I stopped on our way back to Murrells Inlet from the Veterans Hospital in Charleston. We will be be making our trip quite often as he as a Veteran of the Marine Corp has heart problems. I can not give this place one star of approval. By the way our waitress was about our age judging from the gray hair. We are age 68. She was excellent and ran circles around the younger employees.. Reminded me of myself and years of waiting tables. We will not recommend this place to any one and will tell the man who said to go there he certainly does not know good fresh seafood.

Took my family to eat here this morning. The portions were large, which for me is always a plus. Their blueberry pancakes were great, and their fried steak and chicken were fantastic as well. I will be back here for breakfast again for sure.

I had an hour to kill before a Boy Scout event on the Yorktown so was driving around and just pulled in with my son for breakfast. Low expectations (I had been searching for an IHOP) and ended up with one of the best breakfasts of my life. I had country fried steak (with sausage gravy), eggs, hash brown and a biscuit. The country fried steak was the best I ever had, the meat was high quality, the breading not overpowering and the gravy perfect. Eggs were also cooked just right. Hash browns were a little soggy (I am not a huge hash brown fan regardless). My son had chocolate chip pancakes and his only complaint was the portion was too large. We also had an awesome waitress, Ginny, who was really friend, good with my son, but not phony. The meal was so good that the next morning we were suppposed to have breakfast on the Yorktown but my son actually suggested we go back to the Okra Grill (and he is not a foodie). We went back and had the exact same thing, the only difference being that he was allowed to order only one pancake and my home fries were crisper. They also had some unique Sunday special breakfast items that I was tempted to try, particularly a fried oysters eggs benedict with a chipotle hollandaise. I may go back to Charleston just to go again.

We found Page's purely through Yelp. Once again, thanks fellow Yelpers! It's definitely a local spot, but gave me the impression of those who want to see and be seen in their best weejuns and capris. Very ol' South dah-ling. The food was very good. My husband said his fried flounder was very fresh and perfectly fried. That man is a fried flounder connoisseur, so I'd take his word for it. My crab cakes were okay (3 Yelp stars), but the fried okra was spot on as were the butter beans. Points off for stale, cold hushpuppies and a sinuous piece of pickled okra that graced each plate. I'm not complaining about gratuitous hushpuppies and pickled okra, but don't tease me with bad ones! Overall good stuff.

I had a great experience overall at this restaurant. My dad and I went on a Friday night and it was PACKED! We ended up eating at the outdoor bar, and although it was noisy by the fan, it was not a problem. We had the appetizer platter with the fried green tomatoes, corn and black eyed pea salsa, and pimento cheese, which was delicious. I had a good watermelon margarita and my dad had the lime one. The pie (chocolate mousse) was also great! The prices were also so affordable compared to many other restaurants in the area. My only qualm with the place is that they do not have any vegetarian entrée dishes. I ended up getting a salad and had to ask for it without the chicken (still paying for the price with the meat), but I was okay with that. The salad was pretty good, but not as good as the appetizers or my dad's meal (shrimp and grits). At the end of the meal, I mentioned to our waiter that I loved everything, but would love it even more if they could have some more vegetarian options. He laughed and said that they rarely get vegetarians in there, and when they do, he tells them to get a salad. It was just one waiter, but it felt a bit like he was laughing at the notion of vegetarians. I knew going in that they did not have many options because I checked the menu online, and I guess they get enough business as it is that they do not care to get customers with other dietary preferences/needs. However, I think it would be nice if they could at least have one veggie option (they already have ingredients for it) for families like mine who have a mix of meat and veggie eaters. They probably would have more vegetarians or just people who feel like having a vegetable dish if they had options for them.

Had the shrimp & grits, different but good, boyfriend got seafood platter- he loved it! The service on the other hand was just service, the server was too busy chewing out another one about not cleaning his table, so she got "stuck" waiting on those that came in close to the afternoon closing. Prices are great. But I wouldn't go back because of the service.

Ok thought this place might be geared more for tourists, but low and behold pretty much everyone from Mt Pleasant eats here. Great atmosphere they have a little outside area to relax and have a beer or mimosa while you wait. When we went they had a bluegrass band entertaining while we waited. We were seated in about 20 minutes as opposed to the 45 minutes we were told score! Guess they had a lot of large party's but 3 people was easy to,accommodate. Menu: Covers about every food group fired, fried, fried, and vegetables in bacon grease Yes!! I opted for the ribs as the grill outside smelled damn good, I have not had " fall off " the bone ribs like that in years worth it, 1/2 rack was huge. The Mac and cheese was superb as was the stewed okra and tomatoes. Appetizer: had the redneck roll, pulled pork and pimento cheese deep fried to a crispy golden brown. Mrs A, had the chicken fried steak and was pleased. I will be returning.

My father lives about 20 minutes away from Okra Grill and he's a regular. He took us to this place two years ago and I knew there was no way a restaurant that had a BBQ pit outside could have decent shrimp and grits. I'm not really sure why I thought that... Either way, I was wrong. Shrimp and Grits are delicious and unique for the area with the creamy sauce and gritcakes. The fried flounder is right up there with the best I've had. On our last visit to Okra Grill, I had the fried chicken with macaroni and fried okra - all on target. I will say that I was a little disappointed with the soup. I wanted the she-crab soup, but they ran out. They had a 'crab corn chowder' available, which was admittedly delicious- but had about a half-teaspoon of crab in it. It was great, but there wasn't enough crab to warrant having it in the name of the soup. We go here every time we're in Charleston without fail.

Extremely friendly and attentive service. Food was out of this world. The chicken fried steak was practically as big as your head, crispy but tender, with excellent gravy that was flavorful but not too peppery. DH loved his crab cakes which came with a tasty remoulade and some tender okra and tomatoes. His shrimp and grits was really yummy. The shrimp was well - seasoned and not overcooked. The grits were unique, at least to us. They were cut into triangular grit cakes, which were then pan fried. I was amazed by how soft they were inside. Very tasty. The mashed potatoes were seriously the best I have had, with chunks of potato and skin mixed in, just the way I like them. We would have loved to try one of the desserts, but brought home a large box, as it was. Prices were very good, considering the quality. I. Would definitely return!

Got the Chicken and Waffles and it was the best that I have ever had. The sausage, corn and jalapeños in the waffle were a great addition. The chicken would've been great on its own.

I ate here for lunch Saturday morning on my first trip to the area and loved the outdoor bar. I was alone and the waiter working outside was great. The margarita on special was delicious, shrimp and grits was great and flounder was fried perfectly! If I make it down again I'd definitely come by again. One of the owners, Chase, was working and he was nice as well. Great to see a family working together.

I was up in town with the family visiting our friends and they said this place was good and had authentic southern food. Well, they were right! Service, food and prices were great. If you are a local or a tourist, give this place a shot.

We love Okra Grill. Great food and friendly service. I have not had anything I didn't like. Try the banana pudding. If you are visiting Charleston area, this is the place to eat with the locals. I wished they served breakfast all day. Sometimes you just want breakfast for dinner.

Page's Okra Grill was such an unexpected treat! My dad and I were visiting for a weekend, and needed a warm southern lunch to battle the rainy afternoon, and did Page's hit the spot! Page's offers Delicious southern food and ample southern hospitality! We even saw the Mayor of Mt. Pleasant dining while we were there! It must be a local favorite. We started our meal with the most exciting culinary surprise ive had in a long time: Redneck Rolls. Think spring rolls, but with pimento cheese and BBQ! They are amazing! is your mouth watering yet??? Just wait! We both got the crab cake sandwich. I got a side of Mac and cheese and my dad got fried okra! So much food! So delicious! Probably the best Mac and cheese I've ever had! We couldn't have dessert while there because our waistbands couldn't handle... But we may be back soon just for the mile high cakes!

Great food and service. The chicken and waffles were awesome as was the country fried steak. The home fries are unique but good. The omelettes are made with real fresh ingredients. We will be back when in the area.

Great food, great service... chicken fried steak comes right out of Texas. Wish you put fried catfish on the menu.

We had lunch here and the majority of the meal was excellent. The only item we didn't care for was the stewed okra & tomatoes. It had two pieces of okra in it and I'm not sure what type of tomatoes were used. It certainly was not anything I have ever seen used in this dish. Even though we had a late lunch, the place was busy but we were still serviced in a satisfactory manner. We would definitely return to try other things on the menu.

I took my mother, daughter-in-law and grandsons to lunch yesterday. We arrived at 11:50 and was seated immediately- which was nice because the restaurant was beginning to fill up. The waitress came and took our order. Trouble started to unfold after about 15 minutes of not being checked on. Luckily the kids order came and they were satisfied. After another 20 minutes I walked to find the waitress and ask where the rest of the food was. After a few minutes she apologized and said the ticket got lost and it wasn't her fault and a manager would come over. We had ordered salads so I didn't think it would take much longer. Salads came, no refills on drinks and no manager came either. I understand restaurants and I realize mistakes are made, however, this was not a good experience. The food also was mediocre. I will think twice before returning and will not recommend to anyone . It's unfortunate - I was looking forward to a good, relaxing meal.

I have never had a less than outstanding meal here. The pimento grilled cheese is my favorite sandwich in the world, with or without the egg on the breakfast version. The bacon Bloody Mary is a perfect lunch or brunch cocktail.

  • Julie B.

Just ok. No major problems, but not really memorable either. We joked that it was "dressy" cafeteria food. We had the pimento cheese fries (great ranch dressing but "blobs" of pimento cheese lumped in the middle of the dish) to share. Hubby had country fried steak, kids had BBQ slider, crab cakes (lots of filler, not much crab), and I had mahi. Sides were way better than the fish. If we were going to go back when in town (probably won't just because we're not local), I'd probably try the veggie sampler since the sides were good.

I had the Texas toast egg sandwich with fried red tomato and polenta cheese. Very delicious! The bacon polenta grits were amazing! Waffle was really good as well. Corn beef hash was spectacular.

What a great restaurant! I stared my meal with crab and corn chowder which was very good. Creamy without being too rich and a nice amount of crab and corn. I had the crab cakes for dinner which were also very good. I had thy fried okra and collards for my sides. The fried okra was good especially when dipped in the spicy remoulade sauce. The collards were good but were missing a hint of spice that I like in my greens. My husband had the chicken fried chicken which was great! His sides were the Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The potatoes tasted homemade.

Here on business. Used Yelp to find something nearby. Superb. The food was great. Atmosphere is a bit like a diner, but a little nicer. Food was outstanding and service was perfect. Eating single is often a pain, and I often get left hanging, ready to leave. Spot on service and timing! Will recommend this place to anyone! Would have given 5 stars, but the fried Okra was smidge short of Grandma's!

Fantastic find! We came to visit and this place was highly recommended from a friend. We sat outside on the patio with our dog, very nice atmosphere not touristy at all. I had the red velvet pancakes which tasted just like red velvet cake!! Amazing! The eggs were perfectly done and so was the sausage. We will definitely come back. Only downside is you will need a nap afterwards lol so we headed down to the beach to nap. Perfect day!

This was a good lunch choice. We were in the area after visiting Boone Plantation and were looking for a good southern restaurant. This one was pretty busy, mostly with an older crowd in the booths who seemed like they come often and know the wait staff. The place has a welcoming diner feel to it, with fast service and good-size portions and cake slices flanking the entry way. The shrimp and grits were incredible in presentation and taste. The fried chicken was so amazing that we took some to go (and it was still excellent hours later!)

Page's is a great diner right in the middle of Coleman Blvd. between Sullivan's Island and the Ravenel Bridge. I love stopping here on my way to a day of sightseeing and shopping downtown. Whether it's breakfast or lunch, indoor or outdoor seating, Page's is a great choice for a fresh, hearty meal and family friendly atmosphere. Their fried green tomatoes are a must for a true southern experience.

This place deserves more than 5 stars! Awesome food! Awesome service! Even the hostess have been great! I'd like to eat here everyday for breakfast but I would be 500 lbs next month. Like all the other reviews said the country fried steak is amazing! I'd like to know how they make it so tender? My hubby and I usually share the country fried steak the portion is a bit large. I just tried TJ's hot mess for breakfast my last visit and it's my new favorite. So when you are in town this is a must try.

I've tried really hard not to like Paige's Okra Grill. They have a diner-esque atmosphere that I thought would indicate a sub-par dining experience. I couldn't have been more wrong. I have been there several times now, and the food has been excellent every time. They maintain an eclectic menu and friendly staff. Their shrimp and grits is amazing as is everything else I've tried. Give Paige's a go, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

All the traditional southern foods. The fried chicken was pretty good, as was the shrimp and grits. The place is fairly large with an outdoor place also. The prices are decent.

Absolutely delicious! My husband and I were in Charleston for a week and came here twice; the first time for dinner, the second for breakfast. I had the Hell Burger with a side of Mac and Cheese for dinner and it was SO good! It was huge; didn't come close to eating the whole thing. When we went back for breakfast I had TJ's Hot Mess; again, delicious. Probably the best fried chicken I have ever had and the sausage gravy was very flavorful. Everyone was so friendly. Great service, great value and awesome food!

I had always gone for for breakfast, because every time, the food was awesome. Can't go wrong with the country fried steak and eggs. Service was good, price was right on target. So I had to try going for dinner a few weeks later with a friend: We arrived at 8:15pm & were welcomed in & seated quick as I quickly put 2 and 2 together and realized the kitchen was close to closing.(Upon inquiring, I was right, they stop taking orders at 8:30). Our server was very helpful & prompt. Fried green tomatoes & shrimp & grits appetizers were very tasty as I always get the shrimp and grits when I go there, that dish is my favorite. The fried chicken & country fried steak were deelish; sides of fried okra & collards were very good and I generally do not like collards. Warning: If you go on a weekend anytime that breakfast is typically consumed, whether a late riser or early bird, be prepared to wait.

We just happened upon this place. We were on our way to another restaurant and saw all the cars in the parking lot of this restaurant and decided to give it a try. We were so glad we did! It was fantastic! We sat outside in the beautiful weather, played bean bag toss, and ate the most delicious flounder and crab cakes. Our waitress was hilarious and made our visit so enjoyable. I wish I could remember her name but she had red hair and wore glasses. Loved everything about this restaurant!

Delicious food, well prepared and very reasonably priced. Large portions and a friendly and competent wait staff make this our go-to restaurant when we're in the Charleston area. The cheese fries with smoked bacon are to-die-for and the primal salad was huge. One of the specials the night we dined was jambalaya.....delicious. A menu full of southern favorites as well as creative originals and a full bar make this a restaurant most enjoyable.

We went here for my family birthday dinner- As vacationers we did not know what to expect. The food was awesome! The service was very good and none of it is outrageously expensive! It was nice having the entire family walk away happy and full! The crabcakes, shrimp and grits, and the fried green tomatoes were delicious. Also, you can't go wrong with any of the desserts but the strawberry shortcake was the best hands down!

Went to Pages Okra Grill based on a recommendation from two local people. We were a party of 8 and had the fortunate experience of meeting Chase Page behind the restaurant as we were parking the car. We explained to him that we were two families, sisters, who just flew in from Boston and LA and we had 4 kids between us and we were wondering if there was any way he could seat us quickly as there was a wait. Next thing we knew the 8 of us were sitting at a table with menus! - Try pulling that off in either Boston or LA! Based on the recommendations from employees who worked there, as we met other staff as we were parking the car, we ordered the She Crab Soup, the Shrimp and Grits and an appetizer that resembled spring rolls filled with pimento cheese and pork. (We also ordered other food but that was off the children's menu) Anyway the recommendations the staff gave us were superb! As a matter of fact even our picky kids ate and loved those three dishes and didn't eat their food. I really want to say thanks to the red headed guy who works in the back for making the suggestions. For desert we ordered the peanut butter pie and coconut cake. After much persuasion I agreed to sample the coconut cake as I am not a fan of coconut and it was amazing. It was light with a perfect balance of sweetness and toasted coconut. The best part about it was that my husband who had a stroke two years ago and has since lost his desire to eat and he eats to live as oppose to me who lives to eat, ate most of the appetizers, all of his shrimp and grits and the entire slice of PB pie. In the past two years I have not seen him eat that much or enjoy his meal as much as he did tonight. We will be staying on the Isle of Palms for the next week and are meeting our brother and his family from Nashville. You can be sure the 12 of us will be returning to this restaurant not only for the great food, but the wonderful service, friendly and accommodating staff and very reasonable prices.

Wow. Unbelievably disappointed. Walked in with my girlfriend at 11:40 on Saturday so we could grab breakfast which their website said ends at noon. The hostess greeted us with "hi. We're not serving breakfast anymore". And didn't even make an effort to ask the kitchen. Meanwhile the table next to us was getting served breakfast. The menu was boring and overpriced. We left. Check out Boulevard Diner or Charleston Cafe. Great food and good people.

We visited South Caro December 2012 OMG!!!!! GO HERE! The food is SOOOOO good but what's more amazing is the price! It's so freaking affordable. First night we visited for dinner, I got the shrimp and grits (my first time trying this dish) and hubby got the country fried steak dinner. The portions were huge, the price was amazing, and the taste....yum. I got the dinner entree of shrimp and grits but you can get the appetizer of shrimp and grits too which is alot smaller. The customer service was outstanding too. Ok back to the food, I didn't want to like the shrimp and grits, I wanted to be able to say it's an overhyped dish in general, but the first bite and I almost moaned....yes, it was that good. It's a creamy white sauce with about 8 pieces of large shrimp floating around fried grit patties. So good. It's filling too. My husband loved the country fried steak too. Great value. Each dish was about ten dollars. Portions are big. We came back the next morning for breakfast. I got the country fried steak biscuit and I did not expect what i got. I got pretty much a dinner size country fried steak inside a biscuit. It was 4 times larger than the biscuit with a huge bowl of sausage gravy on the side. WOW. ALL that for four dollars. REALLY! This is the best value. It is a better deal than freaking McDonald's. We also got a side of homefries. These were okay but disappointing compared to everything we've had here. They were just deep fried potato bits. They weren't seasoned or anything. I'm just used to homefries being well seasoned and grilled on a flat top stove.

It's clean, it's priced well and has a great selection on the menu. My sisters and I went for breakfast on a Saturday morning and were able to sit on the patio. Our waiter was friendly and provided quick and efficient service. One sister got the shrimp and grits and was simply amazed at how smooth and creamy the grits were. My other sister got the *I think Southwestern Omelet* which was also pretty good, but the homefries were to die for! I, myself got the garden omelet which was huge, but a little on the salty side for me...This is a place in definite competition for the business that Hominy Grill attracts. We will be back!

Brunch this morning was very good. Service was very good, food was extremely tasty. Loved the fact that multiple people came over to our table to ask how the food was. The manager or owner was walking around and interacting with people... just a really great atmosphere. All the food was great, down to the coffee. May have found our new brunch spot. The only bad thing is it is very busy but even with that, nothing lacked in the food or service. I definitely recommend this place

My husband and I think that Page's is the best restaurant going for Mount Pleasant. We are always, always treated incredibly well when we eat there; in fact, the owner's son has come to recognize us every time he's on duty. That's just the cherry on top of the attentive, friendly service that we've come to expect from this restaurant. As far as the food is concerned, I'll just sum up its appetizer-to-dessert awesomeness with one comment: my incredibly picky, inordinately food-stubborn husband has made it his personal goal to try something new every time we go. I think it's adorable, and trust me, you just can't get a more solid testimonial than that. Actually, one other detail that I have to mention about the food is that it's super-high quality and served in portions way too big to finish all at once. So, wrap all this goodness up in an extraordinarily inexpensive package (Really! I don't think that there's anything on the menu over $13, while most of the items are under $10, even for supper!), and you have Page's! We always bring our family there when they come in from out of town. PS: Try the specials! PPS: Don't worry; they leave the okra out of most everything.

Excellent locally owned restaurant! Food is fresh and tasty. Friendly service. We sat at the community table and met some locals which were very friendly and knowledgable about the area. This is a must when in the area. Will come back next time in town.

Page's Okra Grill was one of our favorite stops on our trip to Charleston! We were looking for somewhere to stop for breakfast on the way home and stumbled upon this gem. Hands down the best shrimp and grits I have ever eaten. After being very disappointed by one of the 'upscale' restaurants downtown this was a pleasant surprise. The prices were just right with more than enough food! We still talk about it and will definitely be back the next time we visit charleston!

I ate myself stupid. I married a great cook, and this place is by far the best southern restaurant I have eaten at in Charleston. Or just about anywhere else. The shrimp & grits are to die for. The fried okra was seasoned just right. The pecan pie was perfect. And the ice cream is home made, just like everything else. I see me eating here often while I am visiting Charleston.

Fabulous as usual! My intentions are to take photos and upload them but every time they bring out the food I'm distracted by the anticipation of diving into my meal. One day I will snap a photo to share with everyone. Trust me if you go you won't be disappointed. Servers are the nicest servers around and the food is fabulous. Well worth any wait you might endure to get in.

This place is awesome! Everything hear is yummy and cooked perfectly. It's a diner setting with great food. The shrimp and grits are great and so is the avocado, bacon, and tomato omelette. The pimento cheese sandwich on texas toast is very good and filling. The cakes are delicious and all cooked that same day. A great place to take the family for breakfast or dinner. They are closed on Sunday nights but open for brunch.

Best shrimp and grits EVER. Chicken fried chicken was spectacular. Very disappointed with the stewed okra, however. Tasted straight out of a can and was mostly tomatoes with hardly any okra. I sent it back. Butter beans as a replacement were quite tasty.

OMG - best grits in SC. Had the Shrimp & Grits & it was seasoned to perfection, crunchy but not heavy, with milk gravy that coated but didn't drench. Was just passing through but was lucky fellow yellpers mentioned this place. Not only for tourist; locals were here for Memorial Day. Wish I lived here to eat at Okra Grill on a regular basis. Loved the food!

Shrimp and freakin' grits. I don't have to say anything else. You gotta like gravy and butter to agree with me, but if you do, you're in for a treat. Check it out, yelp.com/biz_photos/85k6… . "Billy M.'s back home" whenever I want a great southern breakfast. Sorry, had to.

I visit Charleston regularly and I was determined to have some shrimp & grits. Page's Okra Grill fit the bill. It had the feel of a popular neighborhood spot, but they seated the four of us (inc. my toddler) with no problem. The staff was friendly and nice and we all enjoyed our meals. My husband had the fried chicken and our grandmom had a salad. It was all delicious. I'd go back again.

The first thing is the prices, they very reasonable for the amount of food you get. The food was great. You did not feel over stuffed but very satisfied. We were in town for 8 days and it the only restaurant we wanted to go back to again. It is Avery friendly atmosphere the wait staff was the best ever.

Pimiento cheese sandwich has bacon, a fried egg and fried green tomatoes. Ridiculous. Shrimp and grits can't be beat... except maybe by the chicken fried steak.

Page's Okra Grill served the worst food I have eaten in a city noted for excellent cuisine. My family and I went for brunch; after ordering, we were told that this location would be closing at 11:00 by order of the Department of Health for repairs to the sewer system! Several of the servers had already left, so service was very slow, although our overworked server was courteous and cheerful. Also, the cinnamon toast which had earned rave reviews from a family member was no longer available. I ordered fresh fruit and a biscuit, both of which were acceptable but not great, and a slice of "country ham" which was perfectly round and looked and tasted like the porcine equivalent of extruded turkey. And even empty of patrons, the restaurant was terribly crowded: little aisle space, etc. Patio service was "unavailable." The temptation to complain and leave was strong; however, our youngest family member, a two-year-old, was nicely settled in and content and hungry. The adults family members were happy to eat quickly and leave, a fortunate thing since it was nearly 11:00 when we finished. The family member who so highly recommended the Okra Grill was with us. She apologized profusely. Now, when friends ask me where to eat in Charleston, I start with a negative: do not patronize Page's Okra Grill!

Came here with the family on a Saturday for brunch. It was quite packed but we did not wait too long to get seated. I ordered their chicken and waffles (with bananas.) The chicken was so tender and rich in flavor. It tasted like the breading of the chicken were mixed with some syrup. I loved it! The waffles were perfectly made too. It was soft, not overly toasty or chewy. Page's Okra Grill surely has the contender for Early Bird Diner's chicken and waffle in my opinion.

I ate here after hearing many great things about this restaurant. It didn't disappoint. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and was more than happy with it. My sister had the shrimp and grits and she gave me a taste of them. I am not normally a fan of shrimp and grits but these were pretty good. The staff here is especially friendly and prompt.

This is where the locals go in MTP, so you know its got to be good. Very, very reasonable prices for some excellent food, especially the seafood. You have choices from seafood, sandwiches, salads, hamburgers and breakfast for in the mornings. All the food is served FRESH!! I would recommend the shrimp and grits along with the collard greens. My wife would recommend the seafood platter. Make sure you go to the counter and look at all the desserts before ordering. They are delicious. The tough part will be deciding which dessert to get. We ordered the chocolate chip pie and it great. You can't go wrong with Page's!

Major problem: Company website says 302 Coleman Boulevard but restaurant isn't located there. This alone caused enough confusion to warrant two stars, but I'll be kind and give three. Good food but a little on the greasy side. Grilled chicken sandwich with blue cheese was dropping with grease. Chicken fried steak was enormous, but I'm not a chicken fried steak fan. Elderly aunt didn't seem overly impressed. Fried okra was darn tasty, but darn greasy too. Crab cake salad was enormous, but the crab cake was on the small side. Ranch dressing was thick. Parking lot was a bit chaotic and very little disabled parking. Bread pudding was the sweetest substance on earth, but tasty. Outstanding service. Wait staff went out of their way to help with my elderly guests. A pesky beam of sunlight shining in the eyes of an elderly woman got the busboy up on a chair with a piece of paper and some tape. Problem solved. Happy customer.

Listen, if you haven't been here yet, you need to go. Now. The parking lot will be enough of a clue as to how popular this place is. Good luck finding a spot! Cars line the side road...squeeze in, you won't be disappointed. I ordered the 2 filets of flounder, which were fried just right. My son got the biggest hamburger I've seen in ages. We saw the table next to us had ordered the same thing and we were shocked at the size. He tried to prepare himself...to no avail. Even this teenager couldn't finish it, and burgers are his favorite thing. He loved how the cheese was all melty and gooey. My sister ordered the shrimp and grits and it looked pretty good. I tried a little bit, but I was more used to the typical style of grits, which aren't as solid as these were. It seemed more like polenta...a solid mass. Still tasty, no matter how different it was. Everybody seemed to know each other, which shows just how popular this spot truly is. I would definitely return. The pickled okra on the plate sold me right off the bat.

Great Southern cuisine! There is a diner atmosphere here that just works. The country fried steak was all I wanted it to be and the fried livers were great says my lady friend. (I won't touch them!) The service was great and will will go when we have that *craving* for a good down home meal!

OMG - breakfast lasted us all day long - literally! I had the shrimp and grits and bf had steak and eggs (what can I tell you - he missed out on a chance to have a real southern meal). The shrimp and grits were a little unusual in that the grits were deep-fried triangles of previously cooked grits - but they made a tasty base for the andouille sausage gravy in which a very generous amount of shrimp were floating. His steak was tender and flavorful. Home fries were unremarkable IMO and the biscuits were pretty good. We both loved that apple butter was in packets on the table - yum! The atmosphere is homey and friendly - a slightly upgraded diner with a little area selling touristy goodies. I'm embarassed to admit that I got dessert to go, but sad to say that I didn't care for it. The Hummingbird Cake was wayyyy to sweet for me and too heavily loaded with frosting - but probably perfect for somebody else.

Upgrading my rating to 4 stars on the strength of my visit last month. Again, the place had a very steady crowd but maintained a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I had fried trout and eggs with grits for breakfast, and also shared a pancake with my GF. The trout was great: light and flaky outside, moist and tender inside. This place is not fancy -- just a good family restaurant that serves simple, solid, satisfying food, with a focus on local ingredients. At least, that's been my breakfast experiences. I suppose they may show a bit more flair for lunch and dinner, which I have not tried yet but plan to do so soon.

Ordered the fried green tomatoes...chicken fried chicken...chicken fried steak...and fried chicken. We all tried eachothers food and each dish was better than the next. For desert we had cherry bkueberry white chocolate bread pudding...man was that amazing. Chase page (owner and former Miami Dolphin) stopped by our table and talked for a bit. I REALLY could not have had a better experience. We loved the food, were seated in 5 minutes, received excellent service, and paid a lot less than I expected.

This restaurant is awesome. The best fried chicken in the entire solar system, perhaps the galaxy. I have eaten here at least 30 times and have never been disappointed. And no, I do not have fried chicken every time. The shrimp and grits are fabulous and the all the breakfasts are delicious. Great mimosas too. I love this place. The food is wonderful and the service friendly and down home. Let me not forget to mention the luscious desserts.

OMG this place is awesome! I had the grilled pimento cheese with bacon and fried green tomatoes. My husband had the fried seafood platter. Sooooo good! Our server Jeannie was friendly with a sense of humor. Can't wait to go back!

Best fried green tomatoes I have EVER had. Don't miss them! I'm not sure how, but the seasoning in the batter and the sauce it's served with were a magical combination. Our group of 4 was planning on going to another place for breakfast but driving by, this place looked busy and intriguing so we stopped. Seeing that there was cornhole outside while we waited seemed like a plus. We were told we had 45 minutes until we were seated - but we were definitely at our table in 30 or less. Our waitress was friendly, and didn't laugh at us toooo hard when we ordered 6 breakfast dishes and the fried green tomatoes to share between 4 people. The bloody mary's were perfect, the fried chicken was fantastic, the biscuits were awesome, the gravy was fantastic, and I was a huge fan of the grits. We shared the TJ's hot mess which was everything the reviews led it up to be (heart attack on a platter, don't get me wrong, but everything you want in a post-debauchery breakfast and more). Definitely stop here if you're close-by!

Consistently good. My family eats here all the time, so I thought it was time to speak up about how great this place is. Not a chain. Not a tourist trap. Just good food cooked up by good local people. Just ate breakfast here on Saturday morning. There wasn't a parking space hardly, and we had to park in the dirt lot. And it was pouring rain!!! Any place that is this packed in the rain has to be good. Even though the parking lot was slammed, we were seated right away. I had the TJ's Hot Mess, and it was delish! For dinner, My mom loves the whole fried flounder when they have it, and my mom in-law loves the fried shrimp. I dont usually get a dessert when I eat out, but here is the exception. Desserts are made fresh and are great. You just can't go wrong with this place for breakfast/lunch/ dinner.

Came here with cousins who live locally. We ordered seafood platter, fried chicken livers, fried green Tomatoes , barbecue egg rolls and crab cakes. For dessert delicious blueberry crisp with homemade ice cream On the side. Everything was fabulous. Service was outstanding. The waiter was a riot and was very attentive. Would recommend this restaurant for sure.

Good meal overall. Had a Shem Creek omelette that may be one of the best omelettes I've ever eaten and I've had a few. Grits were eh but it's nice to be able to season them to your own taste. The biscuit was great and the mimosa's were very, very fairly priced, $12.99 for a carafe... about 7-8 glasses.

I had read all about how this place was great and I came in with high expectations. I am really sorry to say that I was disappointed. I ordered the flounder and it was adequate. Not great but not bad. It was really heavily breaded and fried. I thought it tasted like most "fish camp" style seafood. My mother felt like the shrimp was prepared the same way. I guess what really irks me about this place is their deceptiveness surrounding their veggies. As you walk in you see all these great gardens growing beautiful vegetables. I ordered the fried okra thinking it must be delicious. It came frozen from a bag. I know because after tasting it and realizing it tasted just like the fried okra served in the cafeteria where I work, I asked the waitress where the okra came from ad she confirmed my suspicion. If your gonna call yourself "Okra Grill" then you should have some fresh fried Okra. Otherwise call yourself "Frozen Okra From A Bag Grill." Will not be going back as do not recommend.

I thought my meal here was fantastic. Nothing special, but all done really well. Two weird things: 1. Why does the dressing come in little plastic containers? 2. They seem to let all the food that falls/is thrown on the floor by children just sit there all day. It would have been nicer if they swept it up. HOWEVER, I can overlook all these things for the BEST PIMENTO CHEESE EVER. I had the grilled pimento cheese with fried green tomatoes and bacon. It was really something. I just loved it. Definitely worth a stop!!!

This is one of my most favorite places. Awesome service, food, bloody mary's. Peanut Butter pie is out of this world, but all the desserts are fantastic. Chicken and Waffles and Redneck Benedict are tied for first for Brunch but I'm telling ya'll everything is good :)

Four of us had breakfast there... Waitress was great! Prompt service... We ordered the chicken fried steak, fried flounder, French toast and pancakes. Grits, eggs, home fries and biscuits came as sides. All of the food was very good with the pancakes and the flounder taking home the honors. It looks like it would be a great place for lunch and dinner as well with lots of cool offerings on the chalkboards and wine and liquor available. Would definitely go back next time we're in the area.

Wow, what a nice suprise during our visit to Charleston. We were returning from Isle of Palms and heading back to our hotel when my wife spotted this place. We looked at the menu and decided to give it a try. The decor is a bit utilitarian but the food more than made up for the atmosphere. I had the blue plate special, fried chicken with two sides. The chicken was great, breading just right, not soggy, perfectly done. That night one of the sides was hoppin' john, which was so good, I could have eaten a whole plate for a meal. The white gravy on the potatos was excellent too. My wife had the fried shrimp with two sides. The shrimp was fresh, with light breading and fried to perfection. The sweet potato cassarole was excellent too, flavored with pineapple. All in all a great meal.

Turns out your biggest problem with the menu at Okra Grill may well be the amount of tasty dishes you'll have to choose from! Visited on a weeknight and were faced with some tough decisions, as the menu and the specials board were loaded with low country favorites. Here's the quick and dirty version of our samplings... Beef brisket/pulled pork special was excellent! Pork tender and juicy, no need for sauce of any kind! Brisket was good, if a little dry. Others in dining party ordered the grilled crab cakes with hushpuppies and also the (HUGE) fried pork chop special. When it came time to order sides we made sure to order a good sampling that included butter beans, field peas, mac & cheese, rice & gravy, and sweet potato casserole. All of them were excellent, with our faves being the mac & cheese and the sweet potato casserole, which unlike other we've had did not have loads of brown sugar but was made simply with a pineapple-y flavor. By far the best I've eaten in the Mount Pleasant area! We placed the side dishes in the middle of the table so that we could all try them. The prices for all of our meals, considering the portion sizes which were huge, was beyond reasonable! Bottom line: I visit SC a few times and year and will definitely make it back to this local gem! Tasty, affordable low country eats that will no doubt leave both you and your wallet feeling full.

After many gross meals in the charleston area we stumbled upon this place. One word FABULOUS!! Everything we ordered including the country fried steak the shrimp and grits and the fried green tomatoes were amazing! Really glad we checked this place out and we will defientely be returning in the near future!! The service was a bit lagy but the food definitely made up for it!

This is a quaint little diner located near the Mt Pleasant harbor. Was quite disappointed in the fried okra basket, which given the name of the establishment, you would think would be a highlight. But they were over-fried and lukewarm. The shrimp and grit-cakes were quite good, as were the Redneck rolls. Service was fine as well. Overall, a nice experience and would venture back again, especially for a quick lunch bite.

Enjoyed a dinner of fried green tomatoes, BBQ pork and Coconut Cream Pie. The pie hadn't fully set. Too bad. It never got the chance. Better luck next tune pie. Good food with local ingredients.

We visit the Charleston area all the time. My husband and I ate here on our last trip on Yelps recommendation. The food is out of this world. We had breakfast and lunch here. At lunch we both ordered fried shrimp that came with two sides. The shrimp were locate and had just the right amount of breading and cooked just right. It was so good we came back for breakfast. There was quite a wait for a table so we sat at the bar. Service was still excellent and I had the best Shrimp and Grits I have ever eaten. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and eggs. The steak was as big as the plate. As he was eating his eggs the waiter brought out another egg because they noticed one of his eggs was broken! This is a first at any restaurant where we have eaten breakfast. We would make a trip to Charleston just to eat at Page's

What a pleasant surprise. Have been to Charleston area many times but had never visited before. We had the fried green tomatoes appetizer, fried chicken plate and the shrimp and grits. All of the food was outstanding and tasted very authentic and definitely home-made. The service was outstanding. Only draw aback was that the building was cold and the restrooms needed attention.

Truly amazing southern cuisine! Fresh and innovative are two words that come to mind, besides YUMMY! LOL. Thanks to Yelp, I found Page's Okra Grill on a trip to Charleston. First, be sure to save room for dessert, even of you have to eat it first! They are all made in house and have an incredible variety...try the Hummingbird cake, wow!!! The shrimp & grits with andouille sausage gravy is to die for along with every side I tried. The mashed potatoes are red potatoes with the skins, which only adds to the flavor & a little texture. The service is good and all of this is really reasonably priced! The Certified Angus Beef is also outstanding! I'll be dreaming of all their delicious cuisine until I return! No wonder they were featured on the Food Network & Southern Living!!!

Page's is a great place. I have had a number of dishes there for lunch and I always leave satisfied (and usually a little over full)! They usually offer some specials that are always worth trying but the regular menu is good as well. Page's specializes in Southern home cooking food. You can get fried chicken, all kinds of veggies, country fried steak, and a variety of seafood to name a few. NOTE: They have moved to a new building close to Shem Creek.

Looking forward to going back! Discovered this place by accident - we were on our way to the Boulevard Diner (which appears to have closed down) and when we saw that they weren't open, we continued down the road until we saw a bunch of people gathered outside of Page's. We figured that with that much of a line it must be good, so we took a chance and were glad we did. This is a wait-in-line and seat yourself type place. They don't take names or party #s, so I think it would not be good to go with a large party (more than 6-8) if you all want to sit together. There were probably 4 or 5 parties in front of us, but we we only waited for maybe 10 minutes. The place was very busy. It took our server a while to come and greet us and take our drink orders, but once things got moving, service was good. There are specials written on a couple boards when you come in, so be sure to check those out on your way to the table. The breakfast menu is not huge, but a good mix of sweet/savory options - and CHEAP! I only glanced at the lunch menu, but it looked good too. We both ordered French Toast (I know, boring). He got the regular, I got the Captain Crunch, which I liked. It had a very buttery quality to it. The food was really good...and we enjoyed watching other tables get their food (part of the reason I can't wait to go back) I am excited to try the shrimp and grits on my next trip...there are places in downtown Charleston that charge $19 for a brunch plate...I think it was $8 or so at Page's Okra Grill. UPDATE: We went back for dinner and I had the Shrimp & Grits - TO DIE FOR!! In fact, we ended up going twice in one weekend and I had the Shrimp & Grits both times - once for diner and once for brunch. They are actually served with a grit cake, which is seared on a griddle. I just cut the grit cakes up and mixed everything together. There is also Andouille sausage cut up in the dish.

I probably wouldn't have been as disappointed in Page's breakfast if my parents hadn't oversold it. For starters, the service was painfully slow. It took forever to get drinks, silverware and our orders taken. Our French toast app showed up before we had untensils, which was obviously problematic. To add insult to injury, it had sat in the kitchen so long the strawberry mascarpone cheese between each slice had melted into a puddle of goo. I ordered another French toast as my entree. It was a Cap'n Crunch French toast and my curiosity had gotten the best of me. It was basically just regular French toast with pieces of the cereal smashed into it. I'm not sure what I expected, but I expected more. My wife's chicken-fried steak with home fries was equally blah. It actually had an odd aftertaste, oddly chemical or metallic. I didn't even try any of her home fries, mostly because they looked way overcooked. I can't say the yellowish biscuit looked all that appetizing either. My folks seemed happy with their Western omelets, but later admitted they weren't as good as they usually are. Honestly, it seemed as if the whole place was off its game. But you have to figure if you're going to run a restaurant, you're going to get busy from time to time. This leads me to my final thought: perhaps antique store owners shouldn't dabble in the restaurant biz. If this is the best they can do, they should probably just focus on their main business and leave cooking to the pros.

On our last day in South Carolina, a group of friends and I were searching for the perfect southern breakfast spot...and we happened upon Page's Okra Grill (thanks mobile Yelp!!). The restaurant itself was super cute and we were seated with drinks in hand before we knew it. The coffee was great (OJ not so great) and the food...YUMMY! My friends ordered up a few plates of Shrimp and Grits (Holy COW delicious) and I got the omelet of the day, which was also good. The service was also spot on!

This is a favorite local restaurant! If you want fried chicken like Granma used to make, order it here! You get two sides with it, and a delicious bisquit or cornbread! The white gravy is so good, you will have a major guilt trip if you put if on your rice or mashers! The restaurant is in a new- to- them location and it is working really well! They used to be just down the street. The service is very good, with friendly waitresses who smile and make you feel welcomed! They have great breakfasts, and on Sundays that is all they serve, and that day, they close about two. The patio is nice, but right on the street and can get loud and cigarette smoke filled.

I'm a local and this is one of my regular places for breakfast. It is consistently good and very reasonably priced. It's not fancy or very exotic but if you're looking for a classic diner experience you can't go wrong. Love the omelets!

  • Suzanne M.

Page's Okra Grill has recently moved to the old Alex's location. The crowds are big and the wait seems to be longer. The food is still excellent and the large portions remain. Huge plates of food at reasonable prices. I especially love their breakfasts - they're very willing to adapt meals to suit the diner's preferences. I've had lunch there occasionally and always bring home enough food for dinner or next day's lunch.

This was so good and cheap! The fried chicken was so juicy...the collard greens had the right kick to it and the okra was just perfect. If it weren't such an unhealthy meal I would have ordered seconds. I'll definately be back.

I have gone back several times since my first post. This place is legit good. Great prices on great food. The thing I dont like is that you have to seat yourself and sometimes, when it gets busy it can be a hassle.

Heard about this place a couple of years ago when I first moved to Mtp but tried it for the first time today. Boy have I been missing out! Granted, it's a simple place with a simple menu but I loved it. The "country" food was really good and the prices were low. Great combination. The gumbo was a $10 meal but I got as an appetizer. It was great with sausage, shrimp and perfect seasoning. The country fried steak was also very good as well as the green bean casserole and scalloped potatoes. To finish it off the bread pudding was the best I've ever had. I'll be back soon..

Was looking for a delicious and cheap lowcountry food fix with my friend while we stayed overnight in charleston. Found this place after a little online research and saw some mixed reviews. Our experience was very good. We got there on the early side (5pm) because we hadn't eaten lunch and were looking for some hearty food. We ordered Fried Green Tomatoes to start, then shared the Shrimp and Grits and Dark Meat fried chicken, finished the whole thing off with a slice of coconut cake. Our whole bill plus two beers was 35 bucks (sweet!). All the food was delicious. Fried tomatoes came our crunchy and warm, the grits were delicious and somehow fried into these soft triangle forms. The dark meat chicken was moist but still had that nice crunch outside that can be a bit chewy. Hush puppies were a little bit too bready/moist for my liking, but were still more than acceptable. Coconut cake was also good, although as a non-icing lover I did a little light maneuvering around the edges. Another good sign about this place - lots of locals (or at least, the seemed to be locals since they didn't bother looking at the menu) came piling in shortly after we sat down. If you're looking for a great deal and good southern food, this is your place.

Visited while with the family on vacation. We had breakfast. Service was excellent and very friendly. Food was a mix of standard breakfast food with a great southern flair. They had a homemade ice cream sign that made us want to come back later. A close second to the Boulevard Diner.

I feel like Page's has stepped up its game. The menu is new and revamped. The food seems fresher and less of a "frozen could be from a can" vibe. I am happy with the changes! I feel like I am getting homemade southern food and it is all delicious! Along with the new menus the prices have also gone up. So it is no longer a cheap breakfast stop but I think the prices reflect the new quality and they are on par with other restaurants in the area. Tip: If the waitress asks if you want cheese in your grits, it is a $1.50 up charge. I got burned by this the last time I was there.

Best breakfast in town no doubt! They have a wide selection of great food. You cannot go wrong ordering. They have the best french toast in town if you want sweet. The TJs hot mess is amazing if you want salty! The bacon can be fatty but the sausage links are the best. YOU MUST TRY their grits or hash browns with pimento cheese on top. They have the best pimento cheese in town! If you are their for brunch definitely get the Bloody Mary with bacon. Best Bloody Mary in town. If you want to eat healthy you can do that too! They have great eggs, build your own omelets that you can load with veggies, and you can get fresh fruit on the side. As for lunch/dinner, they have the best comfort food! Shrimp and grits are different then the norm! The grits are grit cakes. :) They have fried chicken that is super yummy! As for drinks definitely try the red or white sangria. Best in town!! The service is great too. Never have had a problem. Food always comes out pretty quick but not too quick. Definite must try in mt.pleasant!

Every time we go it gets better. Today they had Lemon Ricotta pancakes that were off the chart fabulous. The pimento cheese egg sandwich is excellent. The spicy chic and waffle is always done perfect, waffle has great texture.

I finally stopped by Page's for brunch and definitely was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the patio atmosphere. It was better than I expected after driving by it so many times. We were told we'd have a 35min wait and within 30secs of getting our beverages at the outside bar, we were seated. They close from 3pm-5pm each day to set up for dinner... and we showed up around 2:30.. so I'll give that some of the credit for the quick seating. The food was really good. I got the traditional breakfast and had no complaints. Their pimento cheese grits were a nice surprise. All in all, its a great brunch spot to check out.

Went to Okra with 2 friends and we all loved it! I had the chicken and waffles which were not only delicious but a HUGE portion for only $11. I brought home more than enough leftovers for lunch the next day. I suggest sitting outside as it was quite loud inside. Even though we were outside in the height of the summer the shaded dining area and ceiling fans made it quite comfortable. It was a very enjoyable experience. Oh, get the fried green tomatoes appetizer - they were amazing!

Order anything - it's bound to be delicious! Page's has an awesome server staff, cold beer, awesome prices, a great outdoor seating area, and most importantly, fantastic homemade southern cuisine that'll keep you coming back for more. We made multiple trips to Page's for both lunch and dinner during a week-long trip to Charleston and it NEVER got old. Great country fried steak, awesome flounder, tasty and fresh mahi mahi, delicious shrimp and grits, pimento fries . Just play it safe and try some of everything.

My breakfast probably provided my entire day's worth of calories... And every calorie was delicious. Fried okra - hot and crunchy on the outside, while retaining the okra flavor and texture on the inside. Fried definitely tastes better than normal boiled okra because it doesn't feel as chewy or mushy. TJ's hot mess - get this if you're not sure what to order! Absolutely wonderful, but my arteries beg to differ. Fried chicken, scrambled eggs, pepperjack cheese and jalapeños on a soft buttermilk biscuit smothered in gravy. If your mouth isn't watering yet, there might be something wrong with your salivary glands. Crab cakes and eggs - good but not spectacular. Bf got this one and agreed mine was better. Good, solid meal. I would have liked to try the dinner menu too.

Excellent Southern Cooking!! My go-to is the Chicken (Country) Fried Steak, but also love the Fried Chicken, Burgers, & Biscuits and Gravy. Okra & Tomato stew is a tasty side, as are the Mashed Potatoes w/ White Gravy. Full bar on the patio, love the Bacon Bloody Mary! I recommend for brunch, lunch & dinner! It's a fave for locals as well as tourists, so expect a wait. But I promise, it's worth every minute!

Love, love, LOVE. You cannot come to Mt Pleasant and not try Page's. The name of the game is QUALITY & QUANTITY! That's right, BOTH. Everything was to die for. Looking for authentic, stick to your bones, delicious southern style cooking? This is definitely your place. My friend and I got the shrimp and grits and the fried chicken livers & both were flawless. The okra is also executed perfectly so that is definitely a must try for any newbies or okra lovers. Drinks were also great (try the Palmer alcohol style). The wait wasn't too long despite it being busy but it's definitely worth it if the wait had been longer.

    (5)
  • Matt H.

Ridiculous. The chicken and waffles is best I've ever had, and too much for one person, split with a friend! The country fried steak is also delicious, as is the okra. This will definitely be a staple for the area for many years to come. Can't wait to come back!

    (5)
  • Phu N.

Everything we have had here has been very good. Would recommend to anyone looking for good southern food. Only thing is the wait is usually long but that is to be expected at a good restaurant.

  • Samantha C.

Amazing food and awesome service! We had the shrimp and grits appetizer since that's what the place is known for. The grit cake was such an interesting take on a classic dish. I just wish it was a little bigger portion. For dinner, I had the fried flounder and the boyfriend had the seafood platter. They both were delicious and hot. Not to mention how down to earth the servers were. Tasty sangrias were saved in cute mason jars! We'll be back when in the area.

  • Michael M.

Delicious on delicious. Went here 3 weeks ago, during a trip to Charleston to visit friends, because I wanted a true southern meal while I was down there. What is more southern than a pimento cheese, fried green tomato, and bacon sandwich. Nothing. Wash it down with some sweet tea, and it is just awesome. All for under 10 bucks? Yes please. I will be back.

  • Anja S.

Went for Sunday brunch. Whoever is responsible for putting jalapeño in waffle batter (chicken and waffles) is a genius. Chicken was juicy but not greasy. And the TJs hot mess, which could have been a disaster of soggy grease was complexly delicious. To top it off, the portions are very generous for the prices. We got there right before the rush and I appreciate that the waitress never rushed even though there was a wait. I wish the day had been nicer because while the atmosphere inside is your basic diner, it wasn't anything special. I'd try either sitting at the counter or outside. I honestly can't think of a single negative thing to say.

If I needed one more reason to fall in love with this area - I found it. On the recommendation of a friend I went here and had the shrimp and grits. Actually she said something like, "If you don't go to Page's and have the shrimp and grits while you are visiting this area I will bop you on your head!" She was right, it is a creamy, rich and smooth dish with a bit of a zing. I started with the fried green tomatoes, which were crisp, fresh and wonderful. A great meal at a great price, and with outstanding service to boot.

Okra Grill is always solid. Their fried chicken liver breakfast is delicious. It's on the heavy side, but it's plenty big enough for 2 people to share. On Sundays, it gets jammed up with people by 9, so try to get there at 8 if you can. You'll be glad you did. Oh, and another thing. Get the pimento cheese grits.

This place was such a pleasant surprise! We were en-route to the Yelp Gets Handsy event, Comedy and Crafting, and wanted to stop for something to eat before we got there, so we decided to give Page's a try. We started with margaritas, which they make with house made margarita mix. It is incredibly refreshing and delicious--no artificially sweetened sour mix here! Orange juice and some other mixers make a great margarita. We had the hot bacon and greens dip, which was served with house made pork rinds. YUM! For dinner, I had the grilled chicken breasts, and my husband had the fried chicken. Both were incredibly delicious, and generous portions. I even took leftovers for lunch the next day! In a town where everyone is constantly trying to one up each other on the food scene, its nice to have place where you can go for some simple, classic, home cooked food. Page's for the win!

Love, love this place!! I have been here for every meal, and have been completely pleased every time! 1) outstanding service 2) delicious food and drinks 3) best omelette I've had in this area! 4) pimento cheese to die for 5) Bloody Mary and mimosas are delicious 6) Sangria is spectacular! 7) Laid back atmosphere--sit in or out Conveniently located in Mt P on Coleman. Well worth the drive even if you live West Ashley like me! Great spot to grab drinks of have a yummy meal!

After a eating a meal with a group of 7 I ordered a few pies to go. They didn't have one of the pies as a whole; they only had 5/6 slices. I ordered what they had left. I was charged $15 for the whole pies and $20 for the partial pie. I asked if they could give me the whole pie rate since that is what I ordered. The server wanted to satisfy our request, but stated that the manager, Chase, refused. I find it very poor service to charge me more for less, especially considering my tab was over $150 for dinner. Is it really worth $5 to lose a customer over Page? Unbelievable!

Food was great. Portions are HUGE! Started with the fried green tomatoes and BBQ pork and pimento cheese egg rolls. The fried green tomatoes were nicely seasoned (a little heavily breaded though) and served with a tangy remoulade. Not the best, but OK if you've never had them before... The egg rolls were AWESOME! I had the Hungryneck platter. 6 fried shrimp, a piece of fried flounder, and a small crabcake. The flounder and shrimp were perfect. The crab cake wasn't gross, but it was not lump crab and was mostly filler. Tasted more like tuna and was gamey. Collards were very good. Banana pudding was light and fluffy just like homemade. The only thing missing was Nilla wafers. Went back for brunch a few days later. I had the Country Fried Steak and eggs. Steak was crispy yet very tender. Coulda used a bit more gravy. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Grits were a bit runny - disappointing. Even hot sauce couldn't save them. The kids had pancakes as big as their head and a full plate of French toast. The wife had a gigantic BLT. My only reason for holding back 5 stars was the inside decor. It's barely nicer than a high school cafeteria. The lobby smells musty like BO. Inside has large tall booths and a diner style bar. Lighting is horrible!!! Dim fluorescent lighting. What a shame... Some nice pendants over the tables would really jazz the place up. Lastly, I'll comment on price. This place was cheap! I almost think this hurts the place as it seemed to attract a lot of families with small kids. Now I was on vacation too, but it seemed to be the IHOP / Golden Coral crowd with very casual dress and boisterous kids. I would not go on a date or with my wife expecting atmosphere. Outside is the way to go if you don't mind waiting a little longer or eating at high-top table.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect burger for a little over ten years now. During that time, I've learned a lot about what exactly it is that makes for a good burger. A lot of people seem to think if you have the right toppings, you're golden. This isn't correct. Not only do you have to have the right ingredients but the way they're cooked and the temperature and moistness they're served with make a huge difference. That said, I've not yet found a perfect burger; I don't think it exists. Some days you want grilled onions while other days you want pineapple. Some days you want bacon on it, sometimes you want bacon IN it. So, instead of looking for a perfect burger anymore, I simply try to remember which burgers have made my eyes close after each bite and keep a list of my favorites. For the past 4 years a burger from Boise, Idaho has been my number one. It is no longer. Page's has a burger with fried onions and pulled pork on it (among other items). It arrived at the perfect temperature and with a nice bakery-style bun. My cousin got the same burger as I while the ladies at the table both got the turkey burger. All four of us agreed it was the best burger we've ever had. I will recommend this place, and this burger, to absolutely anyone. Even if the place is horrible when you come here (which I doubt) you should come back for a second try. It's that good. Don't let this place fall off your radar. Ever.

A nice place that features locally sourced foods and beer. Lovely outdoor dining available with plenty of fans. The food is tasty and plentiful, except the cole slaw......very bland but at least it was fresh. We enjoyed the daily soup which had a spicy bite, would have had a second helping if I had been at home. The pimento grilled cheese and fried green tomatoes sandwich has to be a local masterpiece. Would definitely try again but order another side from their abundant list. It was busy on a Friday at lunch but we waited for about 37 sec for a table for two.

Great food. Had the chicken and waffles and they were wonderful. One important note, we sat on the outside which was a great atmosphere. I did not like something about the inside portion, I cant exactly explain why? So I recommend sitting outside.

It is no wonder Page's is awarded best shrimp and grits! Simply crave-able! Chase, the co-owner, was very personable and extremely nice, even when we walked in 40 minutes prior to them opening for dinner service. Thankfully we waited in the parking lot until they opened at five, because by the time we finished dinner there was already a wait for a table. My boyfriend devoured the bacon, apple and blue cheese coleslaw, which was on the nightly special, and exclaimed he had never had anything like it. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Everything we had was excellent! We were only in Charleston for three nights and had dinner here twice, our first experience was that good. Everything we sampled was exceptional. If we ever return to Charleston we are heading to Page's first!

We stopped in for a late lunch today. Our party ordered a variety of food and everyone was very happy. The shrimp & grits was awesome! The seafood platter was delicious. Unlike many restaurants in Charleston, the food is plentiful and the prices are reasonable. Our server was very friendly and even brought complimentary cupcakes to the kids in our party.

You just have the shrimp and grits! The sauce is rich and full of flavor. The place can be a bit noisy because it is next to the highway, but it can't detract from the flavor of my breakfast! Wow. The bacon Bloody Mary was a treat as well. The mimosa could be so much better if they'd use fresh squeezed oranges.

Came here for brunch on Father's Day and the wait was nearly an hour and we thought about going somewhere else but I'm so glad we didn't. I ordered the chicken and waffles and was blown away. It was by far the best I've ever had. My husband had steak and eggs and said his was really good, too. The only negative thing was that they had no kids breakfast menu. We were also able to order mimosas while waiting for the table, which made the wait more pleasant.

We ate dinner here on Friday and breakfast on Saturday morning! I loved that they had their own herb gardens. Sweet tea is perfect. You have to try the redneck rolls!!! Shrimp and grits were delicious. My daughter loves the greens and macaroni. My husband got the country fried steak and inhaled it! For breakfast we had pancakes, cheese grits, eggs, my husband got an omelet. Everything was so good and with the exception of my daughters breakfast, we both had to get to-go boxes bc the portions are so big. If you are nearby definitely check this place out, you will not be disappointed!!!

Fantastic service and great prices. They only take reservations for parties of 14 or more I believe so make sure you get there early for dinner service cause they are PACKED. I had the seafood platter which was delicious in itself, but my sides were fried okra and rice and white gravy.... AMAZING. It was so good I took an extra side of rice and gravy home. We also had their Strawberry Lemonade Cake for desert. Delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Easily the best meal I have had in charleston. I had their signature shrimp and grits. It is a different take than the norm. They use a grit cake, covered in shrimp and a delicious sauce. Also, the biscuit is one of the best I have had. It is scratch made buttery goodness. In the past I have also had their jalapeño chicken and waffles. So far it appears you can't go wrong with you choice of menu items.

Page's is our "go to" place. The only downside is the crowds, especially on the weekends. The Country Fried Steak is great for breakfast, as a biscuit, or for dinner. I get it almost every time and it never disappoints. The steak is tender and the breading and gravy are delicious. My wife gets something different every time. she likes the Crab cakes and has had them a few times. Last night, she ordered the Half Smoked Chicken off the specials menu. Let me say, if there is ever anything smoked on the menu, get it. This smoked chicken was out of this world great. It was fall off the bone tender and the flavor was some of the best I have ever had and I love barbeque. Desserts are fresh made and delicious. You need to be sure to leave room on purpose. Very few people could eat a whole meal at Page's and get dessert.

We were on day trip to Mt Pleasant, Charston SC area. The volunteer Park Ranger on the Ft .Sumter boat tour gave us several restaurant suggestions, one of them being Page's Okra Grill for lunch. When we arrived we were given a pager as it was pretty busy. We were seated in 10 min . Waitress was friendly and very good at making you feel welcome. The salads and sides were very good but the Shrimp and grits with Andouilla sausage cream sauce and grit cakes were better than any we have ever eaten. The fried oysters although a little salty, were lightly breaded plump moist and fresh . We love Page's Okra Grill and are planning to drive to Mt. Pleasant for more great food and service. Can't wait try the fried chicken or maybe the flounder . Thanks for a great experience. Dave JoAnn and Nancy North Myrtle Beach SC

The reviews for this place looked so good we just had to try it. The patio is really cute and the weather was perfect for sitting outside so we did. The inside looked rather dark and drab. Our waitress was friendly and suggested the sampler appetizer. It was rather large for just two, but tasty nonetheless! My crab cake dinner was not anything impressive. I didn't care for the Mac and cheese either. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits which they are rated #1 for and he enjoyed them. The grits were not as expected though. They came formed into a waffle-like cake. Their desserts sounded good but I was too full to try anything. I took a piece of coconut cake home for later and again, was not overly impressed. All in all, cute patio with friendly staff but average food.

We had a wonderful experience for dinner, the server was extremely attentive but not annoying. Outside they had live music and inside was comfortable. The food was phenomenal, especially the shrimp and grits. Leave room for dessert, the peanut butter pie was almost too good to be true! Lastly, don't forget to try the bacon bloody mary, I did and it made the meal!

Our new favorite place to eat in Mount Pleasant. We had a local recommend the restaurant to us and boy were we all glad we decided to give it a try. We ate at the restaurant last Saturday night. The parking lots on both sides of the business were full and their were a number of people waiting outside. We were told it would be a wait of approximately 40 minutes before they could seat our group of six. Our wait to be seated was less than 15 minutes. All of the staff we had contact with wanted to make sure we were having a great dinning experience. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great southern county meal. I had the chicken fried chicken, field peas and mashed potatoes and I would highly recommend it. No one in our group left hungry. I am sure this restaurant will be a regular place we will eat at when we visit the area.

Awesome food, super attentive and sweet staff. The shrimp and mac and cheese I had were so delicious and hubby's grouper was delish. Would recommend to everyone! Don't go if you'd like a quiet romantic dinner, however. It is loud and boisterous in a friendly kind of way. YUMMY!

The food here is fantastic. Fried Chicken is wonderful. The desserts are to die for. The service is great. The HVAC system needs improvement as it was hot in there. You have to have a good AC in SC in the summer with tons of patrons. Bathroom was kinda dirty. Parking sucks. I will come back here.

Page's seems to be a local "must visit" spot, and it's a good thing we got a seat at the bar because we'd probably still be waiting for a table to open up. My wife's shrimp-and-grits were good. Maybe not great, but entirely satisfactory. My crab cakes had too little crab and too much cake, and I found myself grazing for more. I don't remember what my second dish was, but it filled me up. Like I said, I can't point to any one thing that was unsatisfactory at Page's; I just can't imagine why so many people go bananas over this place. It's good, but it's in an area with a lot of other excellent restaurants.

The food deserves five stars but the overall experience is consistently cheapened by terrible service and rude staff. Today the hostess was exceptionally rude and unwelcoming. I had to get up once to get plates after our appetizers were dropped off and then grew cold because we had nothing to eat on or with and no waitress in sight. We get the check and it has not been split, no big deal. However the twenty minutes that passed waiting for the waitress to return was a bit much. Once again I had to get up and retrieve someone to help. I have to give them some credit because the staff becomes apologetic after the fact but the problem lies in the consistent poor service because it shows no corrective measures are ever taken to improve service and the overall experience for customers.

Rachel our server was fantastic! My boyfriend and I split the shrimp and grits, pimento grilled cheese with fried green tomatoes and hush puppies and OMG the banana pudding!!!! The atmosphere was lovely and the waiting area was fantastic, we forgot we were sitting right next to the highway! We will be back! Thank you Rachel for being fantastic. The staff was all great, a runner delivered our food, someone who I think was a server hand cleared a few plates. Everyone was attentive and kind, southern hospitality at it's best! Working in the good and bev industry I can be a bit critical and this place was on point.

I had the Shem Creek omelette, it had shrimp, scallions and pepper jack cheese. My husband had build your own. We both absolutely loved our food! The service was perfect, very fast and efficient! Where do I start? Well first of all we were here for a business trip from atlanta ga.we was looking for a restaurant with shrimp and grits and all of a sudden boom!!! To our right it was pages resturant. The service was really good and the food was amazing. I had the country fried steak with white gravy and scrambled eggs with cheese and also the best damn grits ive put in my mouth which had pimento cheese in it.who ever thought to mix pimento cheese with grits needs a best damn thought of that award.if I ever come back to south carolina I will most definitely be eating breakfast here.

Loved Page's Okra Grill! A local favorite right outside of Charleston's busy area, that was recommended to me by the two girls that worked the front desk at my hotel. Page's is a pretty big restaurant that takes walk-ins even on a Saturday morning. The shrimp and grits, oh my god, is the best shrimp and grits I had during my entire visit. It's just delicious and only $11, which was a third of what I had paid for my shrimp and grits entree at dinner the night before downtown! The service, atmosphere and crowd is exactly what I was looking for. Basically a more authentic Charleston experience that caters to locals, rather than tourists. And you can't really beat the price.

Brunch, lunch and dinner. All good. Some highlights over the last year - TJs Hot Mess. Swiss cheese omelet. Lima beans. Shrimp and grits. Bacon sandwich. Love the complimentary coffee at the hostess stand. Sitting outside beats inside any day. The servers are busy and occasionally forget things. Once, we were seated and the server said "brb to take your order." We didn't see him again for 20 minutes. When he returned, he was so embarrassed and apologetic. We were not upset or Ohioish with him and he was so relieved. We paid for about half of our check as he comped us. Now that was great! Even without the comp, it's an amazing value.

Heard great things about this place and boy did they deliver. Service, food, and drinks were all great. They were busy when I visited, but they had plenty of seating for our wait. The food and drinks are reasonably priced, especially for the quality. My bloody mary was the best I've ever had and my chicken fried steak was delicious. Everyone in my party was satisfied with their experience. Can't wait to go back to try the rest of their menu!

I am a local now and I come here so often I MUST give it 5 stars. have eaten lunch here a couple of times and breakfast many times. All servings are very generous and while I can eat a lot of food at times I don't finish the plate. I can highly recommend the shrimp and grits for breakfast or other meals and the redneck benedict for breakfast. The home fries are always a must for me. The coffee at breakfast is good and so is the sweet tea with other meals. Tourists, please know that all I just wrote is a lie and eat somewhere else... I will keep my weekly visit schedule though!

We are locals and have been to Pages often. It has good food (a lot of fried foods and veggies) at reasonable prices, but it has gone down hill in recent years. The service is terrible and there is a lot of turnover in terms of hostesses and waitresses. We had a particularly bad experience our last time there. We ordered mashed potatoes with our meal but the server assumed we wanted gravy -- guess we were supposed to say "no gravy." The mashed potatoes came with gravy and we asked the server about getting without gravy and he said we would be charged for two new sides. The waitress then clarified that she would actually be charged for replacement mashed potatoes. We thought that was totally unfair and simply did not eat our gravy-filled mashed potatoes. Needless to say, we don't think much of a restaurant that treats their staff and customers in that manner and will not be returning. It seems that profits trump customer service at Pages. Our prediction is that locals will eventually figure out the poor customer service and this will become a tourist trap. Too bad!

Oh my goodness...this place is delicious. They even had me enjoying a Bloody Mary for the first time and savory alcoholic drinks aren't my thing! Came here with a big group of friends and no one left disappointed or hungry. Okra appetizer was simple and so delicious. I had the chicken and waffle... My god I will forever dream of running hand in hand with this savory waffle. That's normal, right? Next time I visit Charleston I will be paying this place another visit.

I've been here twice and today I had another fantastic meal so I felt like I needed to do a review. First off, I love the laid back atmosphere. It was a beautiful day today and it just was a great vibe. Second, the food was amazing! It was amazing the first time, and it was amazing today again. I've gotten the shrimp & grits appetizer twice and every time regret not getting the entree. It's not just good, it's seriously one of the best in the world. I've tried shrimp & grits all across the great state of South Carolina and the South in general and I can honestly say theirs is up there. The grit cake is delicious, the sausage gravy over top is put together so well, and the shrimp cooked perfectly across the top. I had the oysters and crab cake today which were so great. The oysters were so fresh and the crab cake was done right for sure. Had the triple chocolate cake which was just fantastic, but definitely more than enough for 2 people. It's very affordable, high quality, creative Charleston food. I suggest it to every one who visits Charlestom and will continue.

We quickly tired of the trendy, expensive, "seafood" places on Sullivan's Island, pining for the old fish houses swept away by Hurrican Hugo or devolved to tourist traps at Shem Creek. Then Yelp led us to this treasure. I'm reluctant to review it because the raves from me and others will probably lead to longer waits, but here goes. Saturday night and we only had to wait about 15 minutes - a worthwhile time spent. The waitress was friendly and knew her stuff. We started with the pimento cheese fries, totally unhealthy and delicious. I had the catfish cobb salad - 2 filets with corn and blackeyed pea salsa on a bed of lettuce and hard boiled eggs. The fish was blackened expertly - spicy, but flaky and so tasty. Mixed with the salsa and lettuce, the dish worked well. My wife had the fish and grits special, lightly fried red snapper on a cheesy grit cake. Getting true red snapper is rare these days. This may have been the best I've ever tasted. We were too full for desserts, but they sounded spectacular. Page's deserves the great reviews it gets. Not only is the food great, the wait staff a pleasure, and the prices well below the area's usual, it also emphasizes local foods. Vote for locally-owned restaurants today!

Noticed the "BEST SHRIMP N GRITS" sign and decided to give it a shot. As it was lunch on a Friday, we had to wait around 15 minutes for a table, but it was nice outside, so we didn't mind. Once we were seated and had placed our order, it seems as if they had forgotten about us - three other tables arriving later, received their food before us. Bottom line - the food made the wait worth it. Southern Fried Chicken Livers, Shrimp N Grits and Pimento Cheese Dip, none of which we were able to finish - doggie bags could barely hold the leftovers! Our server was apologetic, but hey, these things happen and we will come back again no matter what.

We had the chicken fried steak and the power salad. My husband was not fond of the pineapple in the sweet potatoes. It must be an acquired taste. I tried them and did not feel the flavours were compatable. He loved the gravy and steak. His green beans and biscuit were ok. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. And the portion size was generous for an appetizer. My salad was good but I could not eat it all. Although the salad had many healthy and good ingrediants, the flavours did not always blend well in my palette. The waitress was on her game, pleasant and efficient. We did not wait long for a table.

I always try the shrimp & grits at every new restaurant I go to - even in Detroit when I was there a few years ago. The shrimp and grits at Page's is by far and away in class all its own. The grit cakes give this version a unique variation that provides a taste of grits in every bite. Everything is well balanced and very flavorful. Good service, food, and atmosphere. Oh - and the local brews add to the rating - just wish they had beer on tap - which I was told is coming.

Hard review to write because we loved some of the food we tried. The open faced beef sandwich, pimento fries, and hush puppies were all great. BBQ pork was ok. The two stars is more for the service. Our waiter was nice enough at the beginning, soiled shirt and all. However, he got a large table, just before their 3:00 PM shift change which did not sit well with him, and he literally threw our check on the table. He then marched over to the hostess and made really negative comments about the people in the large party he just received. Really disrespectful. The check bifold flew past my shoulder and into the middle of the table and he did not say a word to us.

I went here today with a bunch of friends after a morning run. It was delicious and the staff did a great job accommodating a TON of sweaty runners! I had an egg sandwich with tomato and cheese, since I wasn't super hungry, but everyone I was with had different things and enjoyed them. The omelets are huge and definitely shareable- all the portions are really big and the prices are very good for what you're getting. My friend's omelet had feta, spinach, cheese, etc in it with home fries and she loved it, we also had coffees and chocolate milks, the staff did a great job keeping everyone's drinks refilled and getting the food out as quickly as they could. It opens at 8 so it gets packed pretty early on Sunday morning. It's one of the earliest opening places around for breakfast on Sunday, so if you're more into breakfast than brunch, this is your place! Gets packed though.

Wife pick this place out for us to eat because a friend suggested it and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing I got a grouper sandwich that came with bacon, pickles, tomato, lettuce and their own sauce and a side of fries. Wife got shrimp and grits. We both enjoy our meals very much. Waitress was super nice and we were seated fast. Only cons very busy so it was loud from all the people but not unbearable. The parking was pack had to ride around to we found a space. That tells you the place is good if it's packed. We will visit again.

This local diner is busy. We had lunch and ordered fried green tomatoes, fried livers, crab cakes and fried chicken. The livers were excellent. The fried chicken was crispy and meat juicy. The rest were ok. Service was attentive although not from our server but from the manager asking if everything was ok. Price wise it is affordable. This would not be the place if you are looking for seafood. Most of the item on them menus are fried.

Came here for the first time today for lunch. I pulled into the parking lot and it was packed. I had to park in the dirt lot across the street just to find a spot. I knew then that this place must be pretty decent. Page's didn't disappoint, I wasn't starving yet but figured I would order something light. Not easy to do in this place, it's southern style home cooking which means big portions. To be honest I arrived later than the folks I was meeting with and we started chatting so I never really looked over the menu completely. One person in my party ordered flounder so I went with that as well. The breading was light and fluffy with an amazing flavor. Mac n Cheese was pretty strong I would definitely go for it again. The collards had a nice spicy flavor going on without being too much heat. Another person in our party go the chicken fried steak... It looked amazing and was so big it was coming off both sides of his plate. I would love to come back and try that. I will be back for sure no matter what.

DATE OF VISIT: Friday July 18, 2014 at 11AM with one other person. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: Cool looking places with loots of curb appeal. Good outdoor area. The inside was dinner-est and needs an overhaul. MENU APPEAL & OPTIONS: Loots of good options and creative sounding items. FOOD PRESENTATION: Poor. The fried green tomatoes were on a cracked plate and the salmon salad was greasy. FOOD QUALITY: Very poor. the fried green tomatoes were basically fired in cheep bred crumbs and the sauce was way too sweet. The salmon was gross because of the amount of grease on it. The dressing was more oil than dressing and not good flavor. SERVICE: The worst I experienced in my week in South Carolina. We shoed up at 11AM and the restaurant was less then half full and et there were people waiting and we were told it wold be a 15 minute wait (it was closer to 25 minutes). There was no reason for us to wait with lots of open tables (2 and 4 tops). The server we had was curt and not very pleasant. OVERALL: I do not recommend this place and I will not be returning here.

A celebration in your mouth. The chicken and waffles are a must have and so is the shrimp and grits. They have brilliantly added unconventional flash or and made them work...the waffle has corn and jalapeños in it...and it works. ..the grits are fried into a patty with an awesome gravy...there's always a wait but the food is worth it.

Food, service, and hospitality is just ridiculously good. Do yourself a favor and sit at the bar and you will see the myriad of menu choices appear through the kitchen window. Pages okra grill is a well oiled machine. Everyone has an assignment and they put on a food service concert! Breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatever, give them a try.

Best burgers anywhere! I got mine with pimento cheese and it was delicious. The menu talked about how the use only CAB Chuck and grind it in-house.... What a difference! Perfection! As an appetizer we got pulled pork spring rolls and some fried okra- both were terrific. And our Bloody Mary's were nicely garnished and very tasty. Great service, nice patio. If you've never been, you are missing out!

First, I rarely give a place a perfect score. I believe every place has room for improvement. This establishment, however, was excellent! We entered during a busy time. It was 5:00 PM and we were seated immediately! This was great, because we had my wife's grandmother with us. It's never nice to make our elders stand forever. The atmosphere was welcoming and was calming. The number of occupants felt somewhat crowding, but it was manageable. We still had room to move around. The food selection was good! There is something for everyone's taste. Everything from burgers to seafood. We ordered 3 appetizers: Fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, and Redneck Rolls. All were delicious! We, definitely enjoyed the Redneck Rolls! We highly recommend those! As for the main dish, I ordered the Hungry neck Seafood Platter with double fried okra. I found no flaws! It was an excellent meal! We finished the meals with some Hummingbird Cake. Again, it was absolutely delicious! After filling our stomachs, we had plenty of leftovers for a late evening snack. We got our monies worth and then some! If you've never experienced the okra grill, give them a try! The prices are fair, the portions are hearty, and it's delicious!

TJ's Hot Mess is the best item on the menu! It is composed of all the essential brunch/breakfast necessities: biscuit, gravy, cheese, jalapenos, fried chicken! It looks like a sandwich, but you need a fork to devour this masterpiece! Its price point is considerably low for what you get. If needed, order a side of fruit to balance the carbs. .. The corned beef hash is hit or miss, and the omelets are good... We tried the Shrimp and Grits since the signage stated they were known for it and I have had better.

Come here first. We came for lunch. It was so good we came back for dinner. We had tried a lot of the 5-star restaurants durng out 4-day stay in Charleston. You know the ones -- the Food-Network buddies. But when we came here on our final full day in the area, we were sad we didn't start coming here from the start. We could have saved us a whole lot of disappointment. And money. The best: Fried oysters, hands down. And this is my favorite meal on earth. ANd this might be one of my favorite places to have it now. Cooked just right -- so they are still soft and briney -- with a lovely side of not-too-sweet hush puppies and tasty collard greens Amazing: Chicken Fried Steak. The best I've ever had -- and I've had it much more than I should have. If you've never tried it, do it now. Don't let you life continue without enriching it with what I truly do believe to be one of the best culinary experiences you can have: a tender, peppery bite of Chicken Fried Steak with a kiss of lovely, almost-fluffy pepper white gravy... (oh, dear -- excuse me while I wipe this drool off my keyboard! How embarrassing...) Wonderful surprise: butter beans. I didn't know a side of beans could be life changing. But it totally was. Lovely: fried green tomatoes. Perky and tart (but not too tart!) with a crunchy breading that did not overwhelm. (My husband says mine are better, but mine come straight from our garden, and besides I think he is auto-programed to say that on a somewhat regular basis.) I loved loved loved the sauce it came with. I was *this* close to licking the little bowl... Do try: The shrimp and grit cakes. Pretty good -- but I like it more traditional: in creamy Charleston-style grits. But the flavor of the shrimp was right on. Its the signature dish of the area, and they serve it up, quite nicely, with a twist. You might like: Redneck Rolls. I know I did (but my husband, not so much.) How can you *not* like puled pork "spring roll" with house-made pimento cheese oozing out everywhere? Maybe my man is just not a pimento chesse fan. (He is, after all, from way up north...) I'll be frank: I thought the cakes were average. (Hummingbird and coconut.) Same for the key lime pie. But you know what I loved with everything? The pickled okra. I need to get me that recipe. I could eat a jar of that. You know what else I loved with everything? The service. Our dinner server was especially personable and energetic. Morgan was her name, I believe. An exceptional young woman. She's going places, that one. Bet on it. So the food at those 5-star places was quite good -- but not good enough to justify the prices. Not if you can get to Page's Okra Grill. So don't through your money away downtown: come here first.

A home town diner feel that I didn't expect! LOTS of older folks, which I love, because it is like looking into a window of a really old people, that I can't wait to be a part of! Retirement here I come! So, they get the 5 stars for one simple fact. The food is freaking awesome. I kid you not....the BEST shrimp n grits I've ever eaten....and this beast has eaten his share of shrimp n' grits! They fry the grits into a nice square, then put a heavnely gravy over the whole shibang! The fried fish was also cooked to perfection, savored every bite. Get it! Get dem GRITS!

Great breakfast. I actually hadn't been to Page's since their old location a bit further up Coleman Blvd. The new location is much bigger (in the old Alex's) better executed and the food seems improved. The service was prompt and friendly and the food came out quick and hot even with a very full restaurant.

I heard incredible things about the food, and I was looking forward to trying Page's. I came for dinner on a busier Saturday night. I checked in with the hostess and stood off to the side (out of the way) to wait for our table. A few minutes later, the hostess came to me and said, "You need to get out of the way." Firstly, I wasn't in anyone's way; I was standing against the wall. Secondly, I could not believe she would speak to a customer this way. Due to this rudeness, my party left and went to Shem Creek.

This is a great place to eat home cooking. We stopped here to eat after a basketball game at moultrie middle school. We were greeted promplty by our hostess and server. The value in the menu is excellent. The kids meals are hearty and will fill up a hungry crew. The chicken fingers are hand dipped and seasoned well. We had chopped steak with mushroon and onion gravy. This was very moist and seasoned well. The best suprise of the night was the Turkey Burger. Yes I said it....the turkey burger. It was also seasoned well, very moist and juicy. I will visit them again when I'm in MT P.

Really good! We stayed in charleston for a couple of days and ate at several of the local places. This one is our favorite. We had lunch there and decided to go back for dinner. Last minute change of plan resulted from such a large portion at lunch, we neither one wanted any dinner. Crawfish étouffée was the best since we lived in Cajun country back in the 90's. My wife had flounder. Equally awesome. Seriously good food! Nuff said. GO THERE!

OMG... literally the best chicken and waffles i've ever had! There are three reasons why: 1) the chicken. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and fried to perfection. Like totally the best ever. 2) the waffle. I love a perfectly crisp waffle. It was literally the ideal waffle that i've always dreamed of. Perfect flavor, perfect texture. 3) the presentation. I loved the way they stacked the waffle, then chicken, then waffle again... and then stuck a fork all the way thru it as if to say "Bam! Top this!" Which i did with lots of syrup! Among our group, we also had the crabcakes & eggs, the southern fried chicken & eggs, and the wake-up burger. All superb! Simply fantastic! The service was amazing as well. The waitresses we had were so nice, friendly, and attentive to our needs. I come to Charleston every year, and i eat my way thru town all weekend... It is now the 3rd restaurant to go on my list to return to every single year... along with Hank's and Magnolia's. Fortunately, i'm going to Charleston twice this year so i get to go to Page's again!

Absolutely worth a visit. I was blown away at the menu and had a hard time deciding which breakfast/brunch item to order. My bloody mary had a piece of bacon in it and was served in a mason jar - ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD! The inside feels a bit like going to a diner, and the outside seating is charming. Everything we ordered came out quickly and our server was very attentive. I can't believe we waited until the last day of our trip to try this place out, and we would have been here every day if we would have known how great it was!

Every time we come to Charleston, we go to the Okra Grill! This time it was a Sunday, and I was initially a little disappointed to find out that they only do brunch on Sunday's.. I was so looking forward to their redneck egg rolls! It didn't take me long to get over it after a couple Mimosa's and my Ashley's Pimento Cheese Sandwich with fried green tomatoes, bacon, and scrambled eggs! Can't wait to come back for Sunday brunch again!

Ate here twice. Once for dinner and once for Sunday breakfast. We met Page's brother accidentally, and said, check out my sisters place, she's running for Mayor. We had no idea this was THE PLACE TO GO IN MT. PLEASANT. I'm from NY and love to try regional food. I've had shrimp and grits up and down the coast, but I was not prepared for this original take on a traditional dish. I think they said it was voted best shrimp and grits by Southern Living Magazine.all I can say is you must try it. Our friend started off with the Okra Grill Bloody Mary, garnished with pickled Okra and a slice of bacon. The ambiance is upscale diner with Sunday brunchers waiting for tables. Service was efficient and not rushed even considering those waiting to get in. Prices were just right.

Our first visit on a Saturday night. Great spot but busy!! No reservations, walk in only. Great seafood & cheap for Charleston. Great for crowds, relaxed vibe casual atmosphere. I had fried green tomatoes fab & Sheephead fish. Fantastic. Apparently a local fish that has to be caught by line & therefore not seen often on menus locally. White delicate taste. Really good & a must try. Deserts are all on display & fab. Parking easy they have their own big lot. Great for kids. Will return.

If you choose to eat anywhere in Mt. Pleasant, make sure it is here! By far the BEST food we've had this week. Fresh ingredients, great prices, huge portions, super friendly staff, and we were seated quickly considering the crowd (only 15 minute wait). I recommend the Shrimp & Grits and if you love salads try the Honey-Lime Glazed Mahi Tostado Salad... both were delicious! We have heard breakfast is just as good, so we'll be back before heading home.

Great service. Shrimp and grits are a bit unique. Grits were pan fried with gravy and shrimp in bowl. Fried okra was fresh and perfectly cooked.

Great food at a good price. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere had a hometown diner feel. My wife had a Snapper with Stuffed Pepper special that was out of this world! By far the best stuffed peppers I have ever had! Cross the bridge from old Charleston and come here!

Best breakfast especially the sugared thick bacon! Don't eat at back counter there is a lazy not so nice brunette waitress that's been there too long with an attitude! That is a negative star!

  • Filipe T.

This place is GREAT! when warm the outside area is great and the food is without a doubt one of the best in Charleston. I'm a huge favorite of their Shrimp and Grits, which apparently is a staple dish. The service is great and very warm. There is a great mom and pop feel to it but big enough for the demand (this place is packed 24/7) The only thing about sitting outside is that it is right next to a very busy road, so the noise can be an issue (I don't care)

Had lunch with the family. Definitely has a diner/comfort feel. Had the fried okra (of course) for appetizer and it was outstanding. Our four meals included the shrimp and grits, flounder, oysters and the fried chicken. All were outstanding and expertly prepared. There are cakes all around the restaurant, and we ordered a couple pieces. Not quite as good as they looked, but not bad. Could have been 5 stars if waitress would have been a little more attentive.

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by a sweet smiling face till we left full and so greatly satisfied. Page's is amazing. It was one of the places I was recommended to visit when I moved to Charleston and for great reasons. Not only are the employees wonderful, the food is INCREDIBLE! We started with pimento cheese and fried green tomatoes and the most delicious okra basket we had ever had! From the chicken and waffles to the desert cakes- this place is well worth any trip to this beautiful area! I love Page's!

I had the pulled pork BBQ omelet. Because it sounded completely crazy. I'm tellin' ypu, this place is awesome. There wasn't anything I ate or saw that wasn't insanely delicious. Good portion sizes and reasonable prices. My son says he "inhaled the crab cakes too quickly to analyze,". I'll take that as "good."

Very good food at a reasonable price. Our family went when we were at the beach. We had 12 people so we showed up at 5. There was a line waiting to get in when it opened, for good reason. Get there early if you don't want to wait. My wife and I had the shrimp and grits and crab cakes appetizers. Both very good. Others in our group had the sampler appetizer and raved about it. For the main course we had the salmon and blackened Mahi Mahi. Both were very good. My wife and I both like sweet potatoes so we got the sweet potato casserole. This was the only thing that we weren't fond of. It had either apples or pineapples in the casserole which we didn't like. Others in our party liked it though. We didn't have room for dessert but some in our party got some to go and said it was very good. We will definitely be back. Two days later we ordered takeout desserts. Between our family we ordered pecan pie, peanut butter pie, key lime pie, and hummingbird cake. They were all fantastic, but the peanut butter was the best of all. If you have room, order some and you will find out. If you don't have room, take a piece or two to go.

Good place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Reasonable prices and lots of food, our last visit was for breakfast and we had a very dry, bland waitress but even with that the food was good and we just ignored her lack of personality. Great location in Mt. Pleasant as well, must try for anyone!

  • Andrea M.

I was here for a rehearsal dinner on a Friday night. They had a separate room for us, and the servers were pretty good. I had the shrimp and grits. I wouldn't typically order grits, but they were AMAZING! So delicious. Fried grit cakes and delicious sauce. The shrimp were huge too. I ate the entire entrée even though I was so full. I don't love the atmosphere, and I haven't tried anything else, but I would definitely go back here and try something else to see if the rest of the menu can rival the shrimp and grits!

I have only been to Page's for breakfast so this is JUST a review of them during their breakfast hours. There is nothing wrong with Page's Okra Grill, but there is also nothing spectacular about it either. The food is good, don't get me wrong, it is a perfectly enjoyable meal. But you could get the same type of meal at almost any local Charleston breakfast establishment. It's your standard southern breakfast fare with the addition of jalapenos, green bell peppers, and onions; that seemed to be the only real difference I could see, they snuck those items in many dishes that might not ordinarily include them. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. The shrimp was not seasoned at all, not even a dash of salt or pepper which was quite noticeable and disappointing. The andouille cream sauce was very good, I thoroughly enjoyed it! The grits were just ok, not the best, would be better if they used a coarser ground grit like Geechie boy grits or something. My spouse got the Hot Mess - he seemed very impressed with it. It seemed to be a very popular item so I'd probably recommend that if you were to go. The wait service was slow and not incredibly friendly. Prices were good. Not bad but not great either. If you're in the area, give it a try. But I probably wouldn't drive too far to eat here since you'd probably have to pass a number of breakfast places getting here that taste just like Page's. I will go back to try their dinner sometime and update this review then!

If you're looking for authentic, delicious, unassuming southern food, this is the place! We eat our way through Charleston every year, and only recently found this hidden gem. The shrimp and grits are as good as it gets. The chicken fried chicken is also amazing. The service typifies southern hospitality, though the decor might not impress. This is the place where the locals go, and swear by it. If you're not in the mood for the lines at Hominy Grill, give this place a try. You won't be sorry. This makes the short list of places that we know will be going to on future trips to Charleston. UPDATE: It was so good we went back the next morning for breakfast. The pimento cheese grits changed my wife's life. I hadTJ's Hot Mess; an equally impressive southern creation with fried chicken on a biscuit, smothered in gravy and scrambled eggs. It's also got diced jalapenos for a little kick, if you like that sort of thing. This is our new favorite place in Charleston. Perfect after a morning of paddle boarding at Shem Creek.

Great breakfast. I was a little disappointed when we first got there that they didn't have a traditional breakfast. However, I tried the redneck Benedict and it was awsome. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the gravy was amazing. Great random find.

I love a good breakfast spot, and I thought I had been to all the best. I was wrong. Page's Okra Grill is phenomenal. Everyone in our group got something different, and it was all great! Don't miss the Chicken and Waffles, a savory sensation...or the Redneck Benedict...or the house-made biscuits...or the pimento cheese grits. Bottom line, the service is great, and the food is better than I could have imagined.

A group of three of us went to Page's for some good Southern food, especially since we saw fried livers on the menu. We also got gumbo, fried okra, and crab cakes. We all enjoyed the liver, crispy and soft with a really like pickle/slaw of sorts on the side that really balanced it out. My girlfriend and I liked our gumbo--which was a huge portion, with tender shrimp and a nice, thick sauce over a healthy portion of rice--but our friend didn't like her crab cakes as she thought it was too doughy (she was looking for that lump crab meat), and under-seasoned. The remoulade that came with it also seemed pretty tasteless--which I agree with. Service was prompt and the waitress was pretty nice, though I later regretted agreeing to sit at a table near the door because people kept coming in and lining up pretty near our table, which wasn't the best. Having had this experience, though, we will probably come back to try the other of "Page's favorites" because the gumbo was a solid choice. Hopefully, we'll all find something we like next time.

Page's is awesome and is one of my MUST GO places when I am back in the low country. We also have a weekend breakfast there and it is worth the wait to get in. The food is as authentic as it gets. There is a reason there is such a wait but hey, at least they give you free coffee while you wait. If you don't get to Page's then you are missing out, and you will always wonder "what did I miss".

Even nearing closing time on a Tuesday evening, you can still see the crowds shuffling in to get a taste at the local Mount Pleasant eatery .... And rightfully so. If you happened to have heard about Page's Okra Grill and their famous Shrimp and Grits, you were not misguided. They were probably the best I've tasted. The grits are fried in a thin, crispy breading topped with a creamy remoulade and sharp, shaved green onions. Oh, and there's shrimp... Jumbo and fresh! A perfect bite would be a combination of all the ingredients. They come as a full entree or even an as an appetizer (so you can at least say you tried the heavenly delight!) But if they're not your thing, they have a slew of other signature southern delights, including perfectly juicy brine soaked fried chicken. I had the pleasure of Kristin's service and her wonderful suggestions. She was knowledgable, hospitable, and prompt. So what southern meal is complete without dessert? Take a bite out of the coconut cake. The only disappointment that'll come from that is the urge to eat the entire generous slice ;0)

We have visited the Charleston area for many years. Every year we try new restaurants. This year it was Paige's Okra Grill. It is my new favorite restaurant! The shrimp and grits are with out a doubt the best I have ever had.

Watch out Homminy Grill! Page' got it going on! Bigger ,better , cheaper and less wait! I would call it Homminy grill on steroids! The price is great and the food matches it.The service is good. A well oiled machine. Everyone works together. The food was better than I expexted. Our meal was two large boneless chicken breast with very smooth silky black peppered gravy with a side of real home fries. The shocker was the bloody marry meal! Yes a meal. Spicy Bloody Mary with a picked okra A slice of bacon and of course a celery stalk! . Ok now for the biscuit! It was dense but big! A little doughy in the middle but I enjoyed it! Great atmosphere and everyone was happy.

Count me as one of the drooling fans of Page's. I certainly had my reservations, what with all the good (and hyped) restos in town. Page's lived up to the hype. I liked it so much I ate here three times in two weeks! No small feat when downtown Charleytown is just 15 minutes away and a dozen kickass restaurants call. But I kept hearing the siren call of their "chicken fried chicken" and those shrimp n grits and it kept me on the Pleasant side of the bridge. The latter being as good an interpretation as I've had anywhere in the south. The sides that I tried held up to the hype as well - of particular note, the collards (very vinegar-y!) and the okra and tomatoes (to die for). Desserts are homemade but run out, so get there early! Hint: coconut cake. I will return the next time I'm in town. I hope it doesn't get any more popular though, the place can get crowded at peak times. 5 star deliciousness.

As I have previously stated in a tip, the key lime pie here is splendid. Definitely some of the best I've had other than home made. The shrimp and grits are legit, and the grits served in one of the only respectable ways to eat grits, in a grit cake. I've eaten here more times than I can count, and I will continue to return. Neither breakfast or dinner ever disappoint. When the rush for breakfast and dinner start, service can start to suffer a bit, but it's nothing too bad. Prices are right, food comes out fast, and the wait is never too long. Love me some Page's.

Best chicken fried steak we have ever had bar none! Gravy had just the right amount of spice and was nice and creamy. Hush puppies were crispy on the outside and just right and tasty on the inside. Price was very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. We took home a second meal. They had every traditional Southern dessert imaginable and they looked delectable but we didn't have room. Our waitress was terrific.

I think I found a my must go place while visiting Charleston! We ended up eating dinner and then breakfast here the next day because it was so good! For dinner I had fried fish, hush puppies and amazing collard greens and fried okra! I think I could seriously eat their collard greens by the bucketful! Mmmm... I got a piece of their hummingbird cake to top it off and let's just say I was thoroughly satisfied. The dinner was good but I found their breakfast to be amazing! I just got plain old eggs, sausage and toast but they were the best eggs, sausage and toast I've ever eaten. You can tell the cooks and staff actually care about the food. You can taste the love. Both times the staff was incredibly nice (gotta love good ol' southern hospitality). The restaurant itself is pretty nice too. It's pretty big but they make it feel cozy by dividing it up into little sections. Also they have a large outdoor dining area that I'd like to try out next time. Can't wait to be back in Charleston so I can come back here again!

Initially I thought this was just a breakfast place, but I recently went there for dinner and it was really good! We had some friends in town and they said they wanted to try it, so we figured what the heck. So glad we did. I've been there many many times for breakfast; which is always solid. Probably some of the best omelettes in town. Page's is always busy, which should be a good indicator of how well-liked they are. I can only remember a couple of times when I've gone there and haven't had to wait for at least a few minutes, but they have a coffee pot outside and they do their best to seat you quickly. The staff is always hurriedly running around; which I also like to see. No one is ever standing still or looking underutilized. Protip: Try the homemade key lime pie. I had it the last time I was there for dinner and it was like an (G rated) orgy in my mouth.

We visited the okra grill three times last week. Twice for breakfast and once for dinner. Breakfast was excellent. We had omelettes, French toast, and pancakes. Breakfast potatoes are perfectly done, omelet was fluffy and very tasty. Breakfast was a solid 5 stars. Dinner was more 3-4 stars. The shrimp and grits were excellent, fried green tomatoes very well prepared. It oher items on dinner menu were hit/miss. And we finished with carrot cake (dry) and hummingbird cake (excellent). This place does some things perfectly breakfast is a sure thing.

Great food at a very reasonable price. Had fried oysters one night and gumbo the next. Both were delicious. Service is great.

Great service! The pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, corn & black bean salsa appetizer was delicious. The blackened Mahi & the shrimp and grits are phenomenal! We loved sitting outside. This was definitely a food highlight during our trip.

Having just moved to Charleston from Richmond, Virginia, I didn't think another town could do brunch like RVA. This is the first brunch spot I've visited since the move and my theory has already been proven wrong! First of all, do you like a spicy bloody mary? Then order one at Page's. It's scrumptious. Garnished with bacon, okra, lemon and an Old Bay rim. I am salivating just describing it. I ordered TJ's Hot Mess and it was delicious. I was hesitant because I often find chicken to be dry and blah, but the chicken on this biscuit was flavorful and juicy. The gravy and biscuit themselves were tasty and the jalapenos are the perfect added kick. Do be prepared to wait if you come for brunch. We went around noon on Saturday and were told there would be a 20-minute wait for our party of two. In reality, our buzzer went off about five minutes after we arrived. We will be back to Page's as often as possible.

Had a great breakfast. The French toast was to die for. The service was great. I wish the weather had been so we could have used the seating on the sidewalk. It was so inviting.

We had a delicious lunch here. I wish we found this spot sooner. Good kids menu (tasty, too). It was busy but we were seated quicker than our quoted wait time. Only small complaint was waitress was not too attentive and we did a lot of waiting esp to get our check at the end- otherwise would have been 5 stars!

I have been going to page's okra grill for years , Back when they we're locate down the street . It's a great place to eat with great food . The people are friendly and management knows what they are doing. I would say its a diner on steroids. I have tried many of the items over the years but love the TJ's hot mess ( biscuit , egg, chicken breast , diced jalapeños, pepper jack cheese and covered in sausage gravy all held together with a knife thru the center ) what a site!

What can I say about Page's Okra Grill that hasn't already been said. This place has some of the best country fried steak that I've ever had; it's so tender that you can cut it with a folk and it melts in your mouth. We usually hit up the Okra on Sunday mornings for breakfast; you know that time when you are in need of a stiff bloody mary to cure what ills you from the night before and some good home cooking to stabilize everything. I already told you how good their country fried steak was, which by the way for breakfast comes with eggs the way you want them and side of grits or homestyle breakfast potatoes; but everything I've tried here is some of the best food I've had. A couple of the items that I have tried and recommend are the country fried steak (of course), the breakfast burger topped with an egg (get it over medium), TJ's Hot Mess, and the pancakes. I still need to try lunch and dinner here, I'm sure I'd love that too. Enough about the food, it will speak for itself when you visit. Let's talk about the service. The service here is some of the best service you will find this side of the Cooper; always friendly, always smiling, always happy to help you out, and attentive as can be. The location of the Okra is also nice with plenty of parking including a main lot, a side lot, and of course parking on the street. The building is kept up nicely and has a cozy feel to it; somewhat between a diner, a bar, and fine restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. Would I recommend Page's Okra Grill? You bet your grits I would!

Country fried steak with collard greens was very tasty, though the hush puppies were a bit overcooked but well seasoned. Too much ice in my margarita and not enough tequila. (Yes, country fried steak and a margarita was a weird combo but was generally good.) I also tried my wife's shrimp and grits, which while non-traditional was very tasty as well and was tastier than the country fried steak. Friendly and helpful staff. We got there early which was good because when we left there was quite a wait.

Absolutely love this place, wonderful home cooking. Fry chicken, country fried steak & shrimp and grits are wonderful! Banana pudding is to die for :) also lucked up one night had whole fried flounder which was the best I'd ever had. It's a must try. Wonderful customer service as well! 2 thumbs up! Great job!

We started out with an order of Redneck Rolls and they were Fantastic. That spicy mustard dip and okra is on point. Then came the shrimp and grits....... Great flavor and texture. Being a Los Angeles native I don't get to experience southern cuisine quite like this. When asked what to order true to a local specialty, my colleagues simply stated to try the shrimp and grits. Great suggestion. I will definitely return to this one of a kind restaurant that offers home cooked meals with an atmosphere so close to being in your own dining room and patio. The service was very good - our waiter was very animated and gave us quite a few chuckles. I don't remember his name but he was wearing a Georgia cap and kept saying he usually doesn't talk much. Thanks for a wonderful meal.

Ate dinner here with my husband and three kids. The food was absolutely delicious and exactly what we needed after driving 12 hours from the North to get to Mount Pleasant. I had the Atlantic Salmon and it was fresh and beautifully seasoned. I highly recommend it to all!!

You know this place has good food, when you drive by and it seems to be always packed. Their food is always tasty and if you leave hungry, it's your own fault.. HUGE servings... Desserts are also very good. Sometimes the service is slow. We sometimes sit outside when we bring our dog. I love their traditional southern foods... Fried Chicken, chicken fried steak and fried flounder...

I hadn't eaten here in years but kept hearing from some folks how much they liked it so we went back this past Sunday for brunch. It was way better than I remember it. I had their shrimp and grits which is one of their signature dishes - I really enjoyed the grit cakes they use since it added some lightness and brought out some of the flavor. Also tried their fried chicken biscuits - the fried chicken was delicious, though their biscuits are a little too dense and could use some improvement. Good price - we were very satisfied and will be back soon.

OMG, the chicken and waffles was fantastic! The jalapeno scared me a little when ordering, but pleasantly surprised how they cut the sweet waffle with the jalapenos and corn. The chicken was battered and fried to perfection. The white sauce they serve it with was the perfect amount. The player didn't need anything else. My husband had the shrimp and grits. He is Charleston-raised and he is a grits-aficionado. He was totally pleased. Bloody Mary's err great too. They don't use the cheap bottle stuff most bloody Mary's are made with. ... They either make their own mix or use a high end mix. Either way great, and very reasonable priced.

We stopped here for breakfast mostly because of the reviews. One word...Excellent!! The waitresses were attentive and friendly. They even took time to answer any questions about things in Charleston. The fried steak was soooo tender you didn't need a knife. Seasoned just right. We are definitely going back before we leave the area. We want to try the desserts!

First time, chose this place because of Yelp ratings and reviews. Sherri M. was excellent server, very attentive. Sample platter for appetizers, pimento cheese, fried green tomatoes, blackeye pea corn salsa, yummy. . Vegetable plate and fried chicken plate, oh my Lord!!! Definitely be back.

This morning my grandma and I were arguing over which restaurant has the best breakfast sandwich in town (for the record, my vote was for Two Boroughs' peperonata, but now I think it's tied). So she took me to Page's to try her favorite, the housemade pimento cheese sandwich. I've been here before, but I don't really remember any of the other food after trying this sandwich. The Texas toast alone was enough to write a good review about, and Page's fried green tomatoes are second to none, but the pimento cheese is what really won me over. With a cup of coffee and a side of grits, this sandwich was enough to serve as both breakfast and lunch today. They also have an awesome selection of cakes. I got the carrot cake for my graduation party and was surprised to find that it included all sorts of unusual ingredients like pineapple chunks, zucchini and raisins. This is one of the few instances where the cake was a million times better than the icing (not that the icing was bad). Their outside seating looks like a lot of fun - they've even opened up an outdoor bar!

The place was packed for Sunday brunch, but still we had the luck & the pleasure of sitting outside, enjoying a nice sunny day. Starting off with the Red Neck Spring Rolls (delicious), we chose the Chicken Fried Steak and the Crab Cakes for our lunch. The crab cakes were also delicious (as was the side of Fried Okra), but unfortunately there were some issues. They actually brought us a beef fried steak (instead of chicken), the other sides were bland (house fries, grits) and service was a bit lacking. I'm not sure that we're going back...

I had a suprisingly good breakfast/lunch here. Passed by while we were looking for something to eat and we decided to go in. Very friendly staff, loads of different choices on the menu and very well filled plates. The grits were a bit too sticky to my taste but i'm not from the South so it might be my pallet.

To start, the wife and I are staying at the Holiday Inn. We looked at the "breakfast" they offered at seemingly inflated prices and went straight to Yelp. Immediately Pages stood out. We took the mile drive and saw cars and people everywhere! Do not be dismayed, find a space and get in line. We waited for a fraction of the quoted wait time of 20 minutes. So far so good. As soon as we Sat down the table next to us got their order. BRING YOUR APPETITE! The portions are huge! I ordered the shrimp and grits, my wife, the chicken and eggs. We are not what you may call "light eaters" by any means. But we were busting at the sides about halfway through. No joke. I have never left an order of shrimp and grits unfinished, but this one kicked my butt. I would say, without hesitation, there was almost a pound of perfectly cooked shrimp in my bowl! My wife's order was not to be outdone. Two chicken breasts, two eggs and some of the best home fries I have had in a long time. With biscuits! Hahaha! Both of these plates were under $10 each! Amazing! We also had two of their Bacon Bloody Mary's... Perfect. Not too spicy and not overly boozed, with just the right garnishes. We will definitely eat here again and again!

The shrimp and grits are seriously amazing...(Southern Liviing Magazine also agrees as they were voted Best in the South). Had breakfast here the other day on a quiet Monday morning and were greeted by a very quirky but amazingly fun and informative waiter/bartender (really wish I could remember his name, he was great. Had an irish look to him). He recommended the bacon infused bloody mary's to start and they were spot on delicious. My friend decided to go with an omelete and I went with the afore mentioned shrimp and grits...the grits came out in a cake form and the shrimp was covered in a delicious gravy sauce. The prices were right, weather was beautiful, and staff was great...can't wait to go again.

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. My husband and I enjoyed our dinner here this past Friday night. I ordered crab cakes with a side of macaroni and cheese and a side of sweet potato casserole. The crab cakes were flavorful without fillers. The macaroni and cheese was delicious. The sweet potato casserole was not very sweet and had a nice citrus flavor, which made it a great side dish. We ordered the fried green tomatoes for an appetizer, which were delicious! They were thinly slices and very crunchy. The dipping sauce was a bit too sweet for me, but they really didn't need it. Everyone was really friendly. Overall, we had a great dining experience and would definitely go back.

I grew up in North Charleston but have lived in the mid west for 20 years. I go back to Charleston about every other year and try to seek out hiding gems like this place. I've learned to trust the locals and I can tell you we weren't disappointed with this recommendation. My wife had the shrimp and grits and I had the HUNGRYNECK SEAFOOD PLATTER with Fried Flounder fillet, half dozen fried shrimp, and a pan-seared crab cake. Both were F**king AWESOME!!! I cant recommend this place enough, price's are reasonable, staff is friendly, and wait times were quick.

The chefs here really know how to fry. The fried flounder, fried okra, and fried chicken are always perfectly done. I end up leaving feeling very unhealthy because they have all of the comfort foods that I just can't turn down, and they do them well...mac & cheese, mash potatoes and gravy, and fluffy biscuits. To top off the meal, you can't go wrong with the banana pudding. It's delightful.

  • Saba S.

Hell burger was absolutely delicious. They put a large amount of fried onion strings on the burger with bacon, tasty meat, spicy cheese, and a nicely toasted bun. I had coleslaw which was very delicious as well. I have been coming here for months, and I also recommend the Shrimp and Grits. You won't be disappointed with that as well. I had a half/half iced tea, which was a nice touch to the spiciness of the hell burger. Long story short, come here and eat. I think this is one of the best tasting restaurants in the Charleston area (although it is in Mt Pleasant).

Large group of 7 waited 15 min, sat down and we're introduced to the shrimp and grits. Oh my goodness.... Being from Canada we have never experienced this heaven in your mouth. The dinner and desert were equally as good. Pretty great for stumbling across this place. Best food in Mt. Pleasant.

Every time I visit Mt Pleasant I eat at Page's! I love their food and the service is great. You have to try the "Redneck Rolls" and the shrimp and grits are AMAZING! The Mac and cheese is my favorite side. Every time I try to save room to try some desert but the food is too good and always fills me up.

I love this place! Been there numerous times for breakfast and have never been disappointed. My favorite brunch item is the Shem Creek Omelette. Light, cheesy and stuffed with grilled shrimp. Amazing. The grits are so good, cheese grits are even better! Awesome blueberry pancakes as well. It is busy & there may be a wait, but there's a corn hole set to play and chairs to lounge in to enjoy the sunshine.

Because they don't accept reservations, were always slammed during peak hours, and we have two children in our party who really don't care for waiting around on a table...we ate here at an odd time yesterday, 2:30 pm. SO glad we did. One of our favorites this trip. There is a solid reason they are always busy. Food was delicious, service was friendly & quick, portions are large, and the menu had something for everyone...it was delightfully eclectic. Our party had the shrimp & grits appetizer, pimento cheese appetizer, cowboy caviar (they call it something else). For our entrees we had a pulled pork sandwich, country fried steak, one of their specialty hamburgers, & a BLT. We wanted to sample some desserts, but were just too full....so we ordered the "to go" and enjoyed them later. Peach cake, banana & bread pudding, & chocolate cake. All delicious! Do yourself & your taste buds a favor and make time for Page's Okra Grill. You will NOT be sorry!

Went here for breakfast and was able to sit outside on the patio. I had a mushroom, onion and goat cheese omelet and it was huge! It came with a generous portion of homefries. The goat cheese tasted great. Others in my party got the french toast, which looked really good with thick slices of toast and the redneck benedict, also a huge portion. Coffee was typical diner drip coffee.

I lived in Charleston for about 7 years, then moved to Atlanta. Now, my best friend lives here and teaches at a local high school. Whenever I come back she always likes to take me to places I may have never been before. Enter Page's Okra Grill. We got there and had a small wait (15 minutes tops) then were seated near the kitchen. She asked me did I like collard greens, I said "of course I do!" and thus began my love affair with Page's. Our waitress came and she was pretty friendly. We started off with the hot bacon and greens dip. I'd have never given it a second glance, but I'm glad she brought it to my attention. It was amazing. The manager stopped by and visited (and was super upbeat and friendly), then our food came out. I got the country fried steak with macaroni and cheese, collards and a biscuit. My friend got the fried chicken with okra and stewed tomatoes (she had them put it over rice, it was about a $2 charge), corn, and a biscuit. The food was pretty good. The only complaint was the mac and cheese. I understand that every place does mac and cheese differently, so I won't complain. I would definitely go back based on the service alone. It's a fun atmosphere!

Page's Okra Grill is like the Lebron James of restaurants in Mt. Pleasant. They can do it all. Lunch, good. Dinner, phenomenal. Breakfast, the best. But the true triple threat is that their food is delicious, their prices are relatively inexpensive, and their service is great.

    (5)
  • George T.

Page's earns a solid A after a lunch of shrimp and grits, their pulled pork plate, and sides of fried okra, collard greens, and field peas. Everything well above average in terms of ingredient quality and being properly cooked. Shrimp and grits a bit different with a white sauce with the shrimp and a bit of andouille sausage mixed in over a wedge of grits that is deep fried. The white sauce has a warm creamy texture and flavor with a pleasant hot kick that really adds to the overall flavor of the dish. Although the white sauce with the shrimp and andouille is excellent, the star of the dish is the grits. The presentation, with the grits peaking out through the white sauce as a golden brown wedge, makes you fear the dish will be bland as memories of your Mom's leftover cold grits (all clumped together) that she used to make you eat for lunch enters your mind. However, Page's grits steal the show. Words to properly describe them are a bit hard to conger but a deep and rich creaminess that intensifies the longer you keep them in your mouth is somewhat in the ballpark. This flavor pairs well with the kick that the white sauce delivers. The dish is excellent but my wife and I concluded that the grits were so well executed that they could stand alone by themselves. Fried okra were wonderful with a crunchy and slightly salty batter around perfectly cooked slices of okra. Collard greens were a solid A+. If you have never understood why people carry on so about well prepared greens eat Page's and you will become an instant fan - you will want another order. Field peas perfectly cooked with all the hot sauces and other condiments you would want to put on them already on the table. Worth the short drive from Charleston. Arrive early because a crowd will be there.

I like Page's. Their hostess needs some work. I walked in and asked for a table for four with two high chairs and she drags me to an existing customer's table!!!!! I said very slowly "no. i. need. one. table. for. four. adults. and two. high. chairs." She totally waved me off and said "oh people come in all the time double asking for tables." The whole thing was really off putting. Good thing the food was tasty!! This is definitely your place for tasty southern food. Paxton ate all of my pulled pork. Collards were great, mac and chee was great. The wine is cheap. The service was....like the hostess experience, not that awesome. Drinks sat empty and I actually had to ask the runner to send her out. I'll definitely go back because the food was so good.

This is the first and best place that has specifically catered to our nonverbal autistic son although busy all the wait staff was nice polite and on their game since it's Oktoberfest I had the bratwurst burger which was to die for everything was great and the food really has the wow factor they make you feel comfortable and at home I almost said " Hey mom what's for dinner" will definitely return from time to time but it'll be less than the four years it was last time.

BEST MEAL OF MY VISIT!!! I traveled all over the Charleston area on our recent vacation only to find the best food experience just minutes from my hotel. Page's Okra Grill was exactly what I needed after several days of failed attempts to be WOW'd by the list of restaurants I came to experience. It wasn't even on the radar, but decided to give it a try after my navigation system guided me here instead of Boulevard Diner (which was our intended target). I had the Country Fried Steak with scrambled eggs and potatoes. Aside from the fact that the portion was HUGE, it was simply the best breakfast I've had (outside of my wife's cooking) in a long while. Gravy was creamy but didn't overpower the steak. The steak was cooked to perfection with a tender inside, crispy battered outside and very well seasoned. I thoroughly enjoy it!!!! The cubed potatoes were really good also. My only wish would have been if they had sauteed my onions prior to scrambling them into my eggs. My Goddaughter had the Shrimp and Grits. She was reluctant to order this because it's something new to us, but a common part of local cuisine. I don't want to over-hype the taste, because we are not very experienced with this dish. But of the three places we tried Shrimp & Grits in Charleston... this was by far our favorite!!! It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Everyone else enjoyed their meals also which included the "Oh My God" omelet, pancakes and other standard breakfast fare. If it were not for the fact that we had so many restaurants on our "Must Try" list, we would have eaten here every day. I could totally see myself becoming a regular if I were a resident of Mt. Pleasant and will definitely be back for more on my next visit to the Charleston Area. Matter of fact, it will be the first stop on my list.

Stopped in by chance for breakfast. Omg, so good! I had the chicken and waffle. It was amazing. Some of the best fried chicken I've ever had and the waffle was good too. I also got cheesy grits. They were perfect and seasoned so well I didn't need to add anything to them. My eating partners had a bacon biscuit and a traditional egg breakfast. They said the bacon was very good and the toast was very very good. If we get a chance before we go home we will be back to try the shrimp and grits!

We wound up eating here twice in one weekend and I'm glad we did. Unlike many places in Charleston / Mt. Pleasant, Page's doesn't come off as trying to be better than it really is. It's just a nice place to get a great, reasonably priced meal with friends. Their dinner options are great, but if you're around for their brunch, it's worth dropping in for too.

Just visiting Charleston and looking for a place to eat, we searched the Internet only to find this great little place. The atmosphere was friendly, our waitress, Christina, was very nice and extremely efficient, and the food was outstanding. This appeared to be a quaint restaurant well known by the locals. And you won't go broke eating here. What a refreshing place to stumble on. We'll certainly be going back.

This is absolutely the best food I have ever tasted. Stop for lunch. I had fried chicken livers mashed potatoes and greens. My husband had liver and onions macaroni and cheese and okra and tomatoes. After we totally stuffed ourselves. We had pie with ice cream. The greens were so good and fried chicken livers came with a great sauce. I am so not a fried person but this was delicious. Our waitress was very attentive and very nice. I recommend this as the best place to go in Charleston and Mount Pleasant

Good, stick to your bones delicious, southern food. Im a displaced yankee down here in Charleston. I never knew how. Amazing fried chicken could taste if it was done right! After 8 years down here I never "got" grits. Whats a grit, I would say. And when I tasted them I thought it had the texture of slime. This place has converted me. Their grits are epically delicious! Perfection. We order a dinner size portion of it as an appetizer to split. The wait times can be horrible but there is plenty of things to keep you busy from corn hole, to novelty giant rocking chairs, to a jostling board, and their open bar with a pretty damn good bloody Mary.... I love this place.

Page's is so. dang. good. My most recent trip to Charleston was for 5 days and my friends and I ate here a combined 3 times. It doesn't matter what you choose to eat but my personal highlights are: shrimp and grits, pimiento cheese sandwich, and the belly buster (which combines my all time favorite items of fried chicken, biscuits, spicy things, and gravy - it's genius). Service has always been friendly though you should probably anticipate a wait. Last time I went was a Monday around 10am and the parking lot was already full. I love sitting outside when the weather is nice, but inside works too. It's definitely a must-hit for me when I'm in town.

I've been here twice and both times I'm leaving happy. My favorite is the Pimento Cheese, Fried Green Tomato & Egg sandwich with a side of Grits. I didn't know how yummy real Pimento Cheese is, I had to add extra to my grits! (Where I come from in California there isn't anything like it) Others with me had the Chicken Fried Chicken Biscuit w/a Fried Egg on top and he added a side of Bacon. Took up the whole plate. If your in the area it's a must.

I love this place. I LOVE THIS PLACE. This is my second time visiting this area and Page's Okra Grill. Last time was for dinner, this time for breakfast. My server (who was amazingly sweet and accommodating) talked me into Abigail's shrimp and grits. She noted it was a house specialty, and was convinced I would like it. And so she was right! In fact, I might be drooling thinking about it, and I've never been a fan of shrimp and grits before... The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, sharing their favorite dishes along with gauging your hunger to know what to recommend. The proportions for the price seem almost too good to be true. Food is delicious, atmosphere is friendly, and I really wish I had a restaurant like this back home.

Love, love, love the food at Page's. We were in Charleston, 5 days and we ate at Page's 4 days. The first day we wanted breakfast but got there too late and ended up with an early lunch. The lunch was really good and reasonably priced. We had the Redneck rolls for app and were superb. I had the Hell's Burger and it was delicious! But for me, was not as spicy hot as they advertise it. I do not remember what my wife had but she and my daughter loved their food as well. The next 3 days we had breakfast. Probably the best breakfast around, depending on the time you arrive, you will have to wait for an excellent breakfast. I had the chicken and waffles and I loved it. First time I have had and no comparisons but I thought it was phenomenal. Just need a hotter hot sauce to offer at the table. Texas Petes' didn't do it. Anyway, the breakfast was absolutely great and the service is superb! You can't go wrong here...

Mediocre at best for breakfast. First off the hard sell on bloody mary's and mimosas was way over the top. The guy would not quit. Nice waiter but at some point i just wanna eat and not listen to the waiter's one liners this would have been fine had the food been any good. Simple eggs, sausage potatoes, biscuit. Eggs a little underdog, link sausage was not breakfast sausage and not good anyway. Biscuit horrible. They did not have butter, only margarine. home fries were OK. Tried my friends grits and I believe they were 'quick grits' I could be wrong coffee was weak We ate outside, nice place atmosphere but stay away for breakfast

This is the perfect sit down with your family and have a good time restaurant while still a) having a place to park b) having a ton of wonderful menu options and c) a very warm welcoming feel. The food here is delicious, everything we tried couldn't lose. Pulled pork is a must and the crab cakes are delicious. Get the stewed okra and tomato- I could bathe in this it's so damn good. The service was a little slow but I believe that was because the bartender was out and the servers had to make their own drinks; otherwise they double at doing drinks at the table- kudos! Ask for a booth and don't fill up beforehand- everything is worth trying! And the slices of cake are HUGE

This was the worst food I have had in a very long time. We ordered fried flounder, grilled salmon, fried shrimp, and the country fried steak. The fried flounder was soggy. The salmon was over cooked and dry. The fried shrimp tasted frozen not fresh. The mac and cheese had the worst after taste. I knew when i entered the restaurant at 7pm and everyone was over 70 i was in the wrong place. I relied on the yelp stars and it had a great rating so I was excited to eat here. I wont make that mistake again. This was the only bad food I experienced in Charleston.

Don't expect fancy here. Expect good, solid, delicious, home-style southern food. Here is my hubby's review: "I didn't know I liked fried green tomatoes before. I didn't know I liked collard greens before. Shrimp and grits?! This is the best southern food I have ever had." Seriously. As he polished off my collard greens and fried green tomatoes. And shrimp and grits. And everything else. Be prepared to wait, but know it is for sure worth every minute!

I came here for brunch on the suggestion of a friend. It was the best choice ever. Please come here for brunch and get the chicken waffles! The food came out really fast and it was delicious and tasted amazing. They were slammed for lunch and quoted us 30-40 minutes. We got sat in 15 minutes. The server was very friendly and talked to us. A very good place to try! They had indoor or outdoor seating and the place looked very clean. It was a mom and pop restaurant.

We started out with a shrimp and grits appetizer. That was on a grit cake with an adieu cream sauce, yum! For dinner we got the pick four side platter and split the fisherman's dinner. The Anna's service was great we never felt rushed or forgotten. Desert came in the form of humming bird cake and coffee. Everything was great and if I lived in the area I would be a regular.

I just love Page's! I've been for breakfast and dinner, both were equally delicious! There is usually a wait, so be prepared. On a Monday morning, in April (not even a vacation month!) there was a half hour wait at 11 when we arrived. Totally worth it. We went again this past Monday and arrived around 825 (they close at 9) and they still had a pretty full house- both inside and outside. The staff at Page's make you feel so welcome and like family. They're so nice! They don't seem fake, like some places, which is awesome. The food is always fresh and delicious. Their portions are a bit on the smaller side compared to some places in Charleston, but totally worth it and reasonably priced. Their sausage gravy is some of my favorite in Charleston. I could eat it with their biscuits for every meal. Their breakfast potatoes are also some of my favorite- cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Their dinner is also great. I like their chicken fried chicken (with white or brown gravy- both delish!) You get two sides (!!) which is always a great option. Fills you right up. Their desserts are pretty fab, as well. I usually always order it and then after taking one bite, feel satisfied (and full from all my other food) and end up boxing it. Just to remember it for breakfast the next day! Def go check it out if you're looking for awesome comfort food.

Im going to revisit my review of Pages. For comfort food, I always seem to find myself sitting outside at Pages. There is one particular waitress, which thankfully, always gets stuck with us, and she is just so darling. She's like the mom of an old friend. Really familiar, really friendly. The son of the original owner is a doll (recently clicked that I went to high school with the guy), and he expressively greets us and talks to us like we were back in the hallways of Wando every time he sees us. He loves the feedback about the restaurant, not just because his family name is attached to it, but because he loves what he does. The food, the customers--its all a part of his family. Good vibes. If in Charleston, hit Hwy 17N to Mount Pleasant and check out Pages. PS: If you have room for dessert, you must try the banana pudding. Actually, skip that quantifier cause most of us never have room for desert. Just ask for it to go. Get the banana pudding.

One of our favorite restaurants, especially at breakfast. One morning, I ordered their Eggs Benedict. It was wonderful! The next breakfast visit was their Southern Fried Chicken and gravy. This came with a fresh biscuit. It was all perfect. Anytime I'm in Mount Pleasant, I'll be coming here.

With over 350 reviews and an average Yelp rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars, I knew that Page's Okra Grill would be on my list of places to eat while in Charleston. The only problem was that I was on a very tight schedule and was trying to see and eat as much as possible on my short trip. So on my last day in Charleston, while headed to the airport in my rental car, I shot across the Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge to try it out. I arrived at 5:45 PM on a Friday night (bad idea if you are in a hurry) and there was a line out the door waiting to be seated. Although my flight was for 8:30 PM and I still had to return my rental car, I was determined to eat here. I told the hostess that I would take the 1st available seating, and 20 minutes later, ended up with a seat at the counter that afforded me a clear view of the incredibly busy kitchen. I can't recall my server's name but she was very friendly in a Southern hospitable way; and engaged me in polite conversation as she tended to her other customers. If you are eating alone or have a party of two, I would definitely consider the counter service as it will be much quicker than waiting for a table during peak times; but I digress. Time was definitely of the essence and the place was packed; and I could see at least 20 orders ahead of mine hanging in the kitchen. Therefore I ordered the "Ashleigh's Shrimp & Grits" and a side salad. Kudos for the delicious home made biscuit, which I believe was lagniappe. Their signature shrimp and grits were made with sautéed shrimp (bland) over delicious grit cakes with an Andouille sausage gravy. The grit cakes were a tasty twist to this Charleston favorite and I sopped up every drop of the Andouille sausage gravy with my biscuit. However, the shrimp themselves were a little bland for me. But overall, it was a solid choice. I was amazed at how organized the front of the kitchen was. So much so that I complimented the manager on the food expeditor named Becky (Rebecca). She was an amazing talent and was the driving force on getting the food out so quickly. I was disappointed that I had absolutely no time for dessert, as the home made cakes and pies would rival any bakery that I have ever patronized. However, I will definitely come back on my next trip to Charleston and I will save room (& time) for the dessert.

My wife and I dined here the day after labor day after a long day at the beach and what a treat it was. We met one of the owners (Chase) who recommended the bbq shrimp and grits special. We walked in close to closing so apparently one of the cooks threw out the last batch of gouda grits but came back in a few minutes to inform us that the cook was going to make a fresh batch just for me. Now that's what you call service! My wife had the pimento BLT which she thoroughly enjoyed and my shrimp & grits were the best I've ever had. The drinks were good and the scratch made pies were divine. Thank you for making our day and if I wasn't straight I would have kissed the cook but I tipped him instead lol

Continuing our southern getaway with more southern cooking. We ordered loaded fries which was topped with cheese pimento and a generous heap of bacon bits, the chicken and waffles and the country fried steak. Each dish screamed awesomeness! The waffles had jalapeño and cheddar cheese in them and their fried okra was delish! The fried chicken that came with the waffles were crisp and juicy! Will most certainly make this place a must visit every time we trek back to Charleston.

By far my favorite brunch location in the Charleston area. The prices are reasonable and the food is just the perfect ratio of fancy to homestyle. The chicken and waffles is a jalapeño cornbread waffle with some of the juiciest fried chicken I've had. It is one of my favorite chicken and waffles in town. I recently tried the fish brunch option and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious it was. I have also been here for dinner several times and highly recommend their outrageously topped burgers. The ghost pepper one was quite hot so be careful! I will attach an image of a different burger (I forget it's name but it's one of the largest on the menu). If you plan to come here for brunch please don't wait till noon. The waits I've had on average had been 45 minutes so you want to get there as early as possible to get seating and parking, but on average parking is easy (they have two large lots). Enjoy! I'm sure you will love this place!

Unbelievable. Been in Charleston for over two years and driven by Okra Grill probably a hundred+ times...and never been here. We read that they have "the best shrimp and grits on the East Coast" so we had to give it a shot for brunch. My only complaint is that we didn't come sooner! Every single facet of this restaurant is top-notch. The shrimp and grits are the best anywhere, but they don't tell you that the fried chicken and, well, everything is insanely good. The pimento cheese dip is remarkable, and the Bloody Mary with crispy bacon is really good. Don't sis TJ's Hot Mess or the Belgian Waffle! We will be back for brunch next week...and the week after...and for regular dinner...and...

One of the best breakfasts I've ever had. We were seated quickly on the outdoor patio. The waitress was extremely personable. The menu offered so many great choices it was hard to choose but I decided on the country fried steak biscuit and gravy. It was delicious. My husband ordered the special of pulled pork with poached egg over sweet potato biscuit drizzled with andoli sauce. The presentation was as amazing as the flavor. Will definitely make a repeat visit.

When my husband suggested Page's Okra Grill for lunch, I was hesitant ... "It's always packed ... We'll never get parking ... We'll be waiting a long time to get seated." But, obliging wife that I am, we headed down to Page's Okra Grill at the worst possible time ...12:45 P.M. To our amazement, a nice large spot was waiting for us right in front of the entrance. The dining room was packed (few diners were eating outside due to the heat) but within 10 minutes we were ushered to our booth and interacting with our friendly server. Yes, the music was loud and the noise level, well, energetic ... but the dining room had a great vibe and the staff seemed to take the crowd in stride. Our beverages arrived within minutes ... with our first course, right behind. Each of us started with the Manhattan Clam Chowder (Soup of the Day) ... a definite home run and could have been a meal in itself. The giant bowl of deliciousness was clean eating at its best: fresh and house made ... loaded with large, tender clams, chunky tomatoes, diced potatoes and a delicate, but, well seasoned broth (not a salty canned clam in sight). It did not go unnoticed that we had sufficient time to enjoy our hearty bowls of soup and munch on the crispy, everything 'flatbread' crackers before the entrees were served. My Primal Plate Salad was the largest salad I've seen in any restaurant Charleston ... a better name might include Kitchen Sink! ... composed of crisp mixed greens, sliced grape tomatoes, red onions, diced pickled beets, sliced cucumber, black olives, chèvre cheese, walnuts, half an avocado, tender marinated and grilled chicken breast served with a light balsamic vinaigrette (on the side, of course). As described on the menu, the salad should have included a hard boiled egg, but, for some reason, it was left out. Frankly, though I would have enjoyed it, I did not miss it and opted not to mention it to the server. My husband's Big Mouth Barbecue Burger was not for 'the faint of heart.' The good sized fresh beef patty was topped with a mound of juicy pulled pork, strips of applewood smoked bacon, gooey cheddar cheese, creamy cole slaw, BBQ Sauce, a heap of crispy fried onion straws, mayo, lettuce and tomato. It was juicy, messy and according to my hub ... perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. The fries, however, were disappointing ... not hot ... not fresh ... and sadly, he left them on the plate. He was so pleased with his burger that he decided not to bring the sad fries to our server's attention (I would have!) Though I could not get another morsel of food into my stomach, I couldn't pass up the fluffy, house made peanut butter pie so we purchased a piece to go. Let's just say it was truly to die for ... light and fluffy and topped with dark chocolate shavings ... the best I've had since we've moved to Chucktown. Though each of our entrees missed a beat ... the experience was worth every bit of 5 stars ... and we can't wait to return.

Adam was our server tonight and was wonderful. He was very attentive even with a packed restaurant. It's a Tuesday night and this place was still very busy. That says a lot about the food and service. There were six in our party and we had appetizers, drinks, dinner, and dessert. We were well pleased with everything. Three of us had the melt in your mouth pork chops. Most tender pork chops I've ever had. We left very stuffed and happy.

The first time I ate at Page's Okra Grill, I thought it was really good if fried Southern food was your thing. The second time I ate at Page's Okara Grill, it changed my life. We snagged two seats at the bar at 9:30 on a Saturday morning, which I was pretty psyched about considering there is always a line outside of this place. The bartenders were awesome - so friendly and fun. After scouring the menu, I decided I wanted pimento cheese. I mean REALLY wanted pimento cheese. I ordered the Page's Pimento Cheese Sandwich with a side of pimento cheese grits. It's a sandwich on Texas toast with a huge scoop of pimento cheese, a fried green tomato, bacon, and an egg over easy. It is without a doubt the best thing I ever ate. There are no words to describe it. It also requires approximately nine million napkins to eat. The pimento cheese grits were equally cheesy and delicious. Both the bartenders were shocked and amazed that I was able to clean plate it. I guess I should mention my gentleman caller had the pancakes and enjoyed them, but really I was just too busy focusing on my meal to care. For real y'all, I know longer think Page's is a tourist trap serving up good Southern food. I now believe that it is officially THE only place I will be eating breakfast in Mount P. Consider me in love with Page's and pimento cheese.

Outstanding -- don't miss! Busy place full of locals! Southern cooking at its best, I had the fried chicken livers, Mac and cheese, and collard greens and can now die a happy person! My husband had chicken fried steak with okra n' tomatoes and greens. Seriously the best meal we had in the Charleston area!

Solid place for brunch. We were heading to isle of palms beach on a Sunday morning but it started raining heavily so we got brunch instead. The line was out the door and for good reason. I got the shrimp and grits, which was tasty. Husband got the crab cakes, which were also tasty. Biscuits were average. We ended up eating more of what the other person ordered. I'd visit again to try some of the other items on the menu.

I love this place! Always great, friendly service and consistently delicious food. They close fairly early (9 PM) and aren't open for dinner on Sunday, so plan accordingly. Very reasonably priced southern food. They also do a great job handling the high volume of patrons while making you feel like a valued customer.

I've found my favorite restaurant in Charleston!! Delicious, hearty, and slightly more affordable than some of the other restaurant options we considered in Charleston. Page's is about 10 minutes outside of downtown Charleston, but it has easy parking, fast service, plenty of tables, AND we loved the food. Since it was just the 2 of us, we were seated immediately. We did see a few groups waiting outside on the patio for a bigger table, around 10am on a Saturday. I ordered the Pimento cheese/bacon/egg and fried tomato sandwich, which came with thick chunky home fries. I had to ask the waitress what "home fries" were defined as, since I'm not a native to the South. She kindly informed me they were chunky potatoes, unlike thin McDonalds fries. Biting into the large pimento cheese sandwich was definitely comfort food, with creamy flavorful egg-yolk-dripping in every bite. It was so worth the calories. The portion was big enough that I actually had about half of my sandwich left and brought it on my roadtrip to eat later (and it was still delicious). My husband ordered the TJ's Hot Mess since it was highly reviewed on Yelp and because he is a biscuit fan. TJ's Hot Mess is fried chicken breast topped with scrambled eggs, jalapenos, pepperjack cheese, smothered in sausage gravy. Another hearty choice and he thoroughly enjoyed it! The fried chicken was still crispy underneath the creamy sausage gravy. We will be back again!!

Come with an appetite and be prepared to wait. But it's worth it, as all of these reviews will attest. Everything was very good, but way, way too much food. I ordered Chicken & Waffles and they brought out two fist-sized (no lie) pieces of yummy chicken on 2 large waffles. There was no way any of our party of four could even get to that 2nd piece of chicken after all our filling meals, and since we were on vacation, no way to store it, so we had to let them toss it. I don't like having to throw away extra food like that. But, thanks to Martin, our Uber driver, for the recommendation!

Best fried green tomatoes I've tried down here! Also got the appetizer shrimp and grits and they were excellent!! The sauce they serve them in is a little peppery and very rich. Very good! The grits are served as a deep fried grit patty. I also got a side of fried okra, excellent side! Page's just knows how to do the breading! The hubs, making the healthy decision got this amazing salad with grilled tuna. The green beans on the salad were marinated and so good! I love the outdoor seating here too. Excellent must try place...someday I will reach my goal of saving room for dessert! I walk by them to the bathroom and they look very tempting. The only negative this time was the service. We asked if we could order just one side (on the menu it is listed as 4 for $6.99) and the server said yes. We ordered a side of fried okra and asked for it to be brought as an appetizer. We got a small bowl as an appetizer then another came with our meal, despite that we'd only ordered one. We said something to the person who had brought the food out, and he said he could get our waitress. We didn't want to be difficult, so we said "Never mind, it's fine." When we got the bill though each small side of fried okra was $3.98. If I knew how much it was going to be for the side I would have for sure had them remove one, as we ended up taking it home and it's never as good heated again the next day. Oh well... Lesson learned. Still great food, but maybe next time if I want a side of okra I'll order it as a vegetable plate, it would be cheaper and I'd have more leftovers.

This place is definitely a local favorite. Your usual Southern breakfast food. We pulled into the lot on a busy Sunday morning and were promptly told to be prepared for a 45 minute wait. Luckly, I checked the bar and two seats were open. I'm not sure if it was fate or good fortune. We had the absolutely sweetest waitress who was definitely on her A-game with constant coffee refills and charming hospitality. I felt like I was a regular even though it was my first time there. I ordered a rather boring breakfast, the Belgian waffle topped with blueberries, scrambled eggs, and turkey sausage. It was all absolutely delicious. Next time I'll probably be more adventurous, but regardless I was happy!

Excellent service and food (crab cakes are amazing) and the hours are a bit early. They open early in the morning and close at 9 pm but they allowed us to stay even though we arrived ten minutes before closing time and allowed us to order drinks and food (all very fresh, including the sangria). Highly recommended. We will check out breakfast (that's why they open early). Itbjas been recommended by others to try it as well.

The best Southern cooking restaurant I've ever been to by far. The fried shrimp for my entree was on point and the sides I ordered with it were perfect (Mac and cheese and hush puppies). Not to mention the chocolate cake I got for dessert that was huge and extra moist. Only complaint- I left with a belly that had doubled in size!

Page's should be on everyone's list in Charleston, whether you are visiting or not. Personally, I think everything on this menu is incredible. However, for the sake of Yelp's purpose, I will point out that the Chicken Fried Chicken, Country Fried Steak, Southern Fried Chicken and Shrimp N' Grits are my favorite. Obviously, don't come here if you are looking to stick to your diet, that would be a shame. You have to splurge on calories when you come here! As for the sides, I like a couple of them. The mashed potatoes, fried okra and butter beans are usually my goto selections. Service here is always great, though this place is slammed every day so give your serve a break. Try to sit outside if you can, inside is a bit of a bore. Very old school diner-ish. Rock on Page's, love you lots!

Oh Page. And your Okra. And your grill. How I love thee..... If there even IS a Page. Nah, J/K. I know the Page Family story and I love it. Along with their chicken fried gravy and pimento cheese, and yes, of course, the fried okra. Ahhh okra..... what an amazingly wonderful vegetable. Yes, you look funny and can be a little slimy at times, but darn if you aren't yummy. Especially when your breaded and fried! - As most of the reviews have mentioned, you absolutely MUST get there early unless you want a long wait. But then again, a long wait allows you to sip mimosa's and hang outside with the live music. The pace is one of those touristy destinations that truly pay off and is well worth it. When you do go, have the pimento cheese. It's amazing! We had the pimento cheese BLT stack and the portion is huge. You can split it between 2, maybe even3 people and no one will be hungry when they leave the table. We have also had the chicken gravy biscuit. The sandwich is literally a whole chicken breast, breaded, fried to a golden crisp and smothered in wonderful, yummy gravy. Did I mention it comes on a biscuit? Yeah, a healthy, doesn't crumble on you biscuit. Take the whole family, order some mimosa's and sit a spell. It's a thing to do and not a place to eat.

Stopped here on a whim with my entire extended family for lunch. There were ten of us and we were seated immediately. A wonderfully friendly waitress showed up right away and took our drink orders. Most of the family have never been to the South and the menu was a little foreign to them, but we ordered everything from Pimento fries, shrimp and grits, The Pimento BLT, chicken fried chicken and fried oysters. The food came quickly and it was AMAZING! Tasted sooo good. Even my Yankee nieces thought it was the best sandwich (Pimento BMT) they had ever had.

My wife and I went here for breakfast on a Friday morning and they were packed. It was very busy and noisy and way bigger inside than it looks on the outside. We got a nice clean booth and order pretty quick. The service was good and the bill came pretty quick too. My wife ordered shrimp and grits and ate the whole dish, she said it was very good. I got the chicken and waffles and was very pleased. They take a second place to Hash House A Go Go in Vegas and San Diego but we're very good. The waffles had corn and jalapeños in them which was a nice twist. We'll definitely be back!

Sweet Mother of Shrimp & Grits!!! This place is amazing. I had two plates of the Shrimp & Grits. The #1 shrimp & grits by Southern Living. Rezzenie was our waitress and rocked it! Thank you Page's. I will miss you back in Houston.

I was excited to finally be trying Page's since I had heard so much about it. Maybe it was an off day but I was not impressed. Sunday morning breakfast was no better than IHOP. Nice wait staff and atmosphere but that's about it.

I preface this by admitting this is the first time I have been to charleston and first time in SC since boot camp. The wife researched shrimp and grits in detail before we visited charleston and found this place. It was awesome. We had shrimp and grits, fried green tomatoes and grouper. All were delicious. The wife is no longer willing to eat fried green tomatoes back in Chicago. The shrimp and grits would have been delicious even without the shrimp. That's how good it was. The server was the most entertaining and enthusiastic waitress ever. Sold us wine to go and gave us cups to take back to the hotel. I will be back next time I'm in charleston.

We we're having a family gathering in SC and instead of cooking we opted to buy food. There aren't a ton of places to order from in Mt. Pleasant so I picked the best of the bunch. I was able to correspond with them over email and eventually had to speak with Josh, the manager to finalize my order. I got off the plane and drove right to the restaurant. Everyone I encountered was friendly and my food was loaded into the car piping hot. We ordered baby back ribs, pulled pork, brisket, okra and tomatoes, green beans, red rice, corn bread, and a coconut cake. ALL WAS DELICIOUS. There were 10 of us and the amount of food was too much. I won't complain! My family ate the leftovers over the course of the next 2 days stating that it was still delicious. I'm extremely happy to have found Page's on Yelp and they certainly exceeded my expectations. Being so close to Charleston is tough because of the plethora of food options. But, if you are in Mt. Pleasant, check them out.

There wasn't anything on the menu that wasn't tasty. The wait staff was great as was the bartender. Country fried steak, green beans, hush puppies and mashed tatters were the perfect comfort foods.

Page's Okra Grill is the real deal. My family and I pulled into the lot around 4:50PM. There was a rather large crowd waiting for the doors to open at 5. Their outside waiting area was outstanding! Plenty of seating and plenty of cooling fans! Our server was so knowledgable and nice! She explained the specials and even got a sample of their homemade pimento cheese. Our dinner came promptly and was wonderful. My parents raved about the sweet potato casserole and fried okra ("best okra ever"). I have the fried flounder filets and they were perfectly battered. This was by far the best and the cheapest family dinner we had on our trip. We will for sure come back during our next vacation!

What a great place. If you are visiting Charleston, Mt Pleasant or Sullivans Island it will be a huge mistake not to try this place. Make sure to get pimento cheese fries for an appetizer. Burgers are amazing, dont order them overcooked and make sure you add pimento cheese. Country fried steak is awesome and as always shrimp and grits are killer.

Last time we were here it was for breakfast, we went last night for supper. Wow! super friendly staff, seated right away, even though it appeared to be crowded. Drinks brought quickly and order taken. In a few minutes our meal appeared and it was so good! My wife and I had the build your burger, cooked just right and very moist. She had the sweet potato casserole and she raved about that. I had for sides fries and butter beans. Fries were crispy and the butter beans tasted like my grandma was in the kitchen cooking! Our server was so professional and nice, here name is Sherri M. Overall we were well treated and we were out of there in 25 minutes.

I love breakfast food and I especially love Page's breakfast! Yes, the wait may be long but it is well worth it. Recommended: Fried Chicken Breakfast, Chicken Livers Breakfast, Shrimp and Grits, Pemento Cheese Grits. Everything is delicious! Enjoy!

Spectacular!. We visited Charleston for a wedding and strayed in Mt Pleasant., which is a very nice little place. We had fried macaroni fritters with bacon jelly for appetizers. Boom! We split a burger with pulled pork, slaw, bacon and onion straws piled on top. Boom! Service was great. The wait staff was super friendly, funny and helpful. We later went for breakfast. Boom! Fantastic omelet, fried chicken with gravy and eggs, giant biscuits. Just great. Charleston has great food everywhere but Pages's Okra Grill was one of the tops on our list.

Firstly - the staff here are incredible. Secondly - were I condemned to die, my final meal would be shrimp and grits. I can attest to the amazingness of a couple more dishes, and all and all, this is a place all of you mortals must visit. Eat y'all some grits while y'all here. It be the law.

My first meal here and it was pretty good. Two eggs over easy and corned beef hash with grits. I asked for the hash to be cooked well done and crispy and it was on one side but not the other, but it was still really good and crispy. Eggs were slightly watery but cooked right. The service was a little slow and it was very busy for a Thursday morning at 10. The waitress should have revisited our table earlier than she did. I definitely will be back next time I am in town.

I went for brunch- delicious!! Great prices, wide assortment of typical breakfast and southern brunch dishes. Their homemade buscuits, homefries, and frittata were goooood. The fried chicken and waffels as well as shrimp and grits looked incredible too!! This place is busy so plan to have to wait a while, but we'll worth the wait. They provide a lot of outdoor waiting seating with shade. Oh can't forget the mimosas and bloody marys, which have okra and bacon in them- good stuff!!! Yum

UNbelievable!! The curb appeal of this place in general was awesome! Corn hole, lots of seating on the patio, outside bar... Instantly loved it. The parking lot is packed, but it is worth it to find a space! It was a fairly busy night so the only seating available when we arrived was outside. It wasn't a problem.... Until it started raining. However, the staff was amazing and found us a table inside almost immediately. We did put our orders in outside and our crab leg appetizer did not take long to come out. However with the rain, we weren't able to eat it until we got inside. But then the food came out. It seemed like a bad thing at the time, but it was great that the ear rice was on point! So we had a feast! There was not one thing we did not like! Chicken Fried Chicken was delicious and a couple people in my party said the Country Fried Steak was one of the best they've had. The coleslaw, hush puppies, and cornbread were beyond delicious! Our waitress was extremely attentive and multiple staff members also checked on our table. Page's Okra Grill will certainly be on our list of places to eat when we visit IOP!

Worth the hype? Maybe so! I stopped by this place while I was visiting Charleston and this was a good place to experience some southern cooking! Atmosphere and service were pleasant and the food was legitimate. I tried their shrimp and grits, country fried steak, crab cakes and fried flounders. They went beyond my expectations and I'd come back any day. However, it is very heavy and I couldn't see myself coming here on a weekly basis.

Shrimp and grits tasted great but was expecting a larger portion for an entree. Could have had more shrimp in there too. Fried okra was great. Crab cakes were awesome as well:-). Will dine here again!

What an awesome place to go - especially for a group! A group of 13 was seated without a reservation in only 30 mins. The drinks were great, the food was amazing, and the ambience was Southern. Crab cake appetizers were a stand out. Specials were good, and service was great. Would definitely go back again.

Fantastic local joint serving breakfast/brunch as well as lunch/dinner! I'd probably give this a 4.5 stars if I could because the food and service was absolutely top notch. I do want to come back and hang out on the patio with some drinks to round out (and probably raise) my review. Anyway, the fried flounder here is some of the best I've ever tasted, the fried shrimp are great, the grilled cheese is massive, and the shrimp and grits are amazing. At first taste, these might be my favorite shrimp and grits in the area. (I still have many places still to try, but so far these are up there near or at the lead.) The service here was first rate. Drinks were always topped off, the food was served promptly, with both smiles and jokes. A great establishment!

There is a reason this place opens at 5 for dinner and there is a 20 min wait by 5:30. If you come here plan on waiting to eat but the wait will be worth it. We eat here because of a recommendation from a local. The food was amazing. It was a total of $41 for two drink, one huge salad, green tomatoes, fried chicken and shrimp and grits. The shrimp and grits was not all they say it is. My shrimp was cold and it was my least favorite thing I eat. The corn bread muffin was dry but the biscuit was amazing. With excellent service and the food along with such a cheap price, it's no wonder why this place is popular.

One of the best local restaurants in the greater Charleston/Mt. Pleasant area. If you want breakfast here it's best to come very early, this place STAYS packed. As for selection I would recommend loosing your belt because this place isn't designed to be healthy. Overall, love the "Redneck Benedict" when I leave not only do I have a smile but felt like I got my money's worth.

What more can be added to the extensive list of previous reviews? Really good home cooking, friendly staff, fast paced, fun, lively place. The tile fish special was good, a little under cooked, but they quickly fixed it. The short rib special was delicious, falling apart tender, all good!

This place was packed so of course I was curious and had to try it out. They were on point with all aspects. Hostess was friendly as well as the server and extremely helpful. I had the shrimp and grits; they were rated #1 in southern living magazine and I agree. They placed an awesome spin on southern comfort food. My other half and I started out with their pimento smothered cheese fries and WOW! I couldn't get enough, the cheese was warm and bacon was cooked perfect. I can't wait to try and replicate this dish at home. I started my vacation off right with the shrimp and grits. My grits were deep fried in triangles, plated with sauce and shrimp on top. So good! My other half had chicken and waffles, I kept sneaking my fork onto his plate. Chicken was moist, waffles had corn, and peppers added into batter and gave them a little kick of heat. We added some hot sauce to the maple syrup that sealed the deal. Highly recommend as a must try.

Terrific neighborhood family restaurant serving down home Southern cooking. This place was jumping on a Thursday night and we had to wait 20 minutes or so at 6pm for a table. The menu and prices are great. The food is solid. I had fried chicken dark and chose greens and green beans for my sides and opted for cornbread over biscuits. I think the fried chicken is great. The greens were very good and the cornbread and beans were average. They sent out 2 drumsticks and a thigh. Crispy, well seasoned and moist. I shared the apple spice cake and carrot cake. Good. Neither were heavy or too sweet I liked both. The food the rest of the table ordered didn't blow me away but I would come back and try more.

The food was delicious. Giant portions! We went on a Saturday morning around 10 and it was already packed and on a wait. We had a large group and everyone loved it, not one complaint.

The food was absolutely delicious, but the service was a bit slow. We went on a Thursday morning. The chicken and waffle: thick delicious flavorful moist chicken on a Belgian waffle which was baked with bacon cheese and green onions. We opted for a plain waffle and it was still delicious. Banana chocolate chip pancakes: too much chocolate, otherwise delicious. Crab cakes: very good, good size portion. The service was a bit slow, it took forever to have our order taken and forever to receive or food but it was worth the wait! The outdoor patio is also really adorable, the inside has a diner vibe, which we were fine with.

I don't write too many reviews, but this restaurant was definitely worthy of my praise. I went with a few friends on a Saturday morning for breakfast. I didn't expect it to be as crowded as it was for 10am but I guess I should have known better. The hostess said is the wait would be approx. 35 minutes or less and we may have only had to wait 15 minutes so that was definitely nice. We had seating the front so we couldn't see much of the restaurant besides the outdoor seating which looked pretty nice. It was breakfast, so of course, mimosa's were necessary and they didn't disappoint. I ordered the Fried Flounder and Grits and my friends had the Shrimp and Grits and the Crab Cakes and Grits. I can't personally speak for the shrimp and grits or the crab cakes, but both friends thoroughly enjoyed their meals. None of us left a drop of food on our plates. As for the fried flounder, it was some of the best fried fish I've had, but I'm also very partial the flounder. The portions were plentiful. I had two nice sized pieces of fish. My meal also came with eggs (scrambled, by choice) and toast or a biscuit. I opted for a pancake instead which was also very good. The grits were really, really good. Normally you have to add either salt and/or butter, but these grits needed neither one. They were seasoned perfectly and tasted delicious. This is one of the best breakfast meals I've had in a long time and now I see why there was a wait. I'm not sure how I could have missed this spot, but I'm glad we found it. It was a great experience and I'll definitely be coming back.
